"Any fool can know, the point is to understand." - Albert Einstein
Alistair was laying down in his stall when Shay arrived to take him out for some balance workouts today. Once he saw his owner peak her head over the door, he was on his feet though, waiting for her. She smiled and entered his stall, brushing off anything that stuck to his coat while he was laying down. For the most part, he was a pretty clean horse, so it didn't take long to clean him up. Getting him bridled was no fun ever, but he fought back harder today than he ever had. "Horse, this is starting to become an issue. You've gotta drop you're head, bud. I'm too short to keep doing this," she complained as she reached up over his ears and put a little pressure. He listened, and finally took the bit.
Shailie got him saddled quickly and led him out to the large covered arena she had seen earlier that she wanted to explore. She opened the gate and let him walk in on his own, then closed it behind him. Leaving her helmet next to the gate, where she could easily grab it, she was ready to start lunging him. "Ah, she yelled, seeing him drop his nose to the ground and slowly circle, looking for a place to roll. He lifted his head and walked over to Shay.
She unhooked his reins and pushed on his shoulder, sending him away from her. With a few swings of her arm, she got one end of the reins spinning in a circle and he understood, picking up a light trot, circling his owner gracefully. He switched sides, changed gaits and weaved as told up until Shay heard someone entering the arena, then she slowed him to a walk, so he didn't spook or make another horse bolt.
