Finding a little time to herself, Prudence had headed down to the barn. When she had knocked on the barn manager's door, she knew that she must look a sight, black long sleeved leotard and pink tights. Prue hadn't really ridden since she had become a student at the American Ballet Academy, so she didn't own any riding clothes and she felt that her thick ballet tights would be more comfortable to ride in then jeans. After speaking with Katherine, she was now saddling up a beautiful amber champagne gelding. She had spent a long time grooming the dark cream, letting the two of them get to know each other.
Once the mare was ready, and the woman had a borrowed helmet strapped under her chin, she led the horse out of the barn, where she tightened the girth, pulled the stirrups down and mounted - with only a little trouble - and rubbed the neck of the very forgiving horse. Part of her knew that she should go and ride in one of the many arenas, but Prue didn't want to walk around in circles for half an hour, so she made her way toward the Green Hill Trail, she had heard that the trails were easy for novice riders and were a lot of fun so this is where she was going to go.
As the gelding she was riding, Chazy, plodded easily along the path they were following, Prue tried to remember her riding lessons from so long ago. However, the horse turned out to be a good teacher; if she was holding the reins too tight, the gelding would bob his head up and down until they were loosened, and if Chazy felt his rider slipping he would stop until the woman got herself sorted again. So by the time the entered the trees, Prue was sitting nicely and enjoying the ride.
