Personality>> This little diva demands the best, and will simply refuse to work if she doesn't get it! She's picky about the condition of her tack, picky about the weather, even picky about the type of food she's given! Don't get caught out in the rain, as she has a habit of booking it back to the barn. If you stay on, you can hitch a ride, if not, she's not waiting up for you! In the arena, she needs a strong, observant rider who will constantly watch her, as she has a bad habit of dropping her collection if she is not constantly being reminded about it.

Basic History>> This prissy mare was definitely raised to be one. She was born and began her training in a dressage barn. They fed them high quality food and hay because they could. The horses had the best bedding and stall conditions because they could afford it all. Same went for the tack and arena conditions. She was always fussed over as a young mare and that was where it went downhill, she always hated the rain to the extent that he owners would blow dry her coat just so would stop crying about it. With that in mind they always made sure that she was kept inside if it was calling for rain that day. Seeing as though she was much too good of a dressage horse they extended her training in the world of jumping. She immediately took to it. Though cross country wasn’t exactly her cup of tea, she moved over the jumps and everything fine but when it came to water, she would make sure that she stopped at the jump and got over that thing with a horse length to spare. Deciding that she was too high maintenance she was put up for sale for some other poor person to acquire her.

JAY ROBINSON PURCHASING LOT 5

His hands twitched eagerly as he pulled into the parking lot of the fairgrounds. The shiny silver trailer gleamed in the winter sunshine, his freshly washed truck confirming that it was locked when the male closed the door firmly. A smile, albeit small, stretched over his lips. He was excited. He’d always loved the auctions at Blue Ridge. This time, however, he would be coming away with a horse. Of that he was sure. As much as he was loving his time with Broccoli, watching her grow and learn, he needed something to ride now. Truthfully, he missed showing. He hadn’t thought he would, but he did. He was almost tempted to get Question shipped back to the States. He’d made some enquiries. He thought he’d check out the auction first though. If he felt like it in the future, he was sure his handsome pony would love to come back to the Academy.

Slowly, but intently, Jay made his way around the pens. The first couple of horses were beautiful, but not what he was looking for. They didn’t appeal to him in a way his other horses had when he’d first met them. He’d known instantly with each one that they would be his. Continuing his walk, he paused at Lot 3. A gelding. He tilted his head curiously as he regarded the Standardbred, rubbing his nose affectionately. ”You’re a lovely boy, but not for me. You’ll find a great home.” He told the bay softly.

Lot 4 made him stop for a completely different reason. His eyes blew wide as he took in the enormous gelding. Then they narrowed at the glint in the big brutes eyes. ”Whoever ends up with you is going to have their hands full.” He snorted. ”Best of luck to them.” As the words left his mouth, Jay caught sight of a beauty in the next pen. Tall, grey and gorgeous. His eyes lit up, heading that way.

If a horse could look down its nose at you, this was exactly what this mare was doing. Jay smirked. ”You are just like my Sandy.” He murmured, reaching for her information sheet. The smile grew, until he was starting to chuckle. This diva was the one for him, that he could already tell. ”Brain, you have yourself a new owner. And maybe a new name. We’ll work on that.” He told her, reaching into his pocket for an apple slice. He offered it to her, a brow raising as she regarded it almost with disgust. ”I promise it tastes good.” He assured her in amusement. This mare had been spoiled, that was for sure. She did, however, tentatively take the slice. He watched as she tasted it, chuckling as her ears flew forward and she snorted softly. ”Good, hey?” He turned to the person selling the mare. ”I’ll take her.” He told them, handing over the money after a brief discussion on price. He was now the proud owner of a beautiful fleabitten Holsteiner who was bound to be a handful.

Colin Breen Buying Lot 1

Parking his truck in the fairgrounds parking lot, Colin wasn't sure why he was even looking to buy another horse. Between Pan and Tommy his hands were full, as well as running a barn, keeping up with child support payments and helping Cara, he was like the Duracell bunny on Red Bull. However, it was simply sense that had prevailed. He needed another eventer, preferably young so that he could correct any schooling mistakes, but not so young that it would be qualified as backing, but also nothing older than 11. And due to his own personal preferences, he would prefer an Irish Sport Horse. If anything, it was unlikely that he would find a horse that ticked all the boxes here, but he had brought along the trailer just in case.

Colin was immaculate, dressed in a pair of Tredstep field boots, black breeches, and a light grey long sleeved polo neck. The boots clicked along the cement aisle, as he took a cursory look at the few horses that were there. One warmblood already had a sold sign in front of her stall, as well as it seems the new owner. A plain coloured mare caught his eye, the very first one he had passed, and he went back to her, assessing her with a skilled eye. She was a little long in the back, which would make the dressage slightly difficult, especially needing to collect, but had strong hindquarters and a sloping shoulder, with amazing flat cannons. Her neck was well set, and she had a kind eye. Checking her papers, it confirmed what he already knew, that this was a good example of a Irish Sport Horse. Bloodlines weren't fancy, but she fell into the age category he was looking for.

He was now apparently also collecting the whole set of Neverland characters, as he already owned a Peter Pan, and now a Wendy, all he was lacking was a Captain Hook. He argued down a price, which wasn't cheap to begin with, but the mare was officially his once he received her papers. Wendy had watched everything with a quiet curiosity, but as soon as Colin approached, and offered her a sugar cube, he discovered the one trait on the mare. He had just bought another mouthy horse, but that could be worked on. As long as he made sure that everyone knew it.

What was he doing here? Lee really should have been at the clinic, wiling away the hours until he could head home, since there weren't very many emergencies, and he'd already had his open hours for the day... But if there was an emergency, he could always just head back. There was no need for him to sit and do nothing, and the powers that be hadn't said anything about his mode of operation yet.

Just looking at the many horses were fun. He could see the Red Willow barn manager in conversation with someone in front of a nice-looking bay, while the new dentist was apparently picking up a grey to add to his baby mule. But then, he noticed the pen that many were giving a wide berth, and stepped forward, morbidly curious about the large horse that he could see within. About Lenore's height, if he wasn't mistaken, although the fences made it hard to judge at times.

But as he approached, he found the reason for everyone else's avoidance. The gelding, for the sheet told him the horse's basic information, had absolutely nothing to endear him to any potential buyer... Which made him the perfect horse for Lee! But first, there was a small matter of arranging a space... Because the pastures weren't an option if Nessus was going to bully the others, and Lee didn't want to be responsible for the wreckage of a stall in the barn, either. So, after signaling his interest to the seller, he stepped away for a brief moment and made a call to the only person whom he could think of who would have the third option open to him.

After promise of some hot chocolate, and often, Lee had his affirmative answer, and he stepped back to the seller, taking a deep breath before he uttered the fatal words, “I'll take him.” Now there was just one tiny matter...

How were they going to get home together?

Sarah shut the door of the truck after grabbing her purse out of the back seat. The woman headed towards the auction, and started perusing the horses for sale. She completely walked past the english horses without sparing them a single glance. The western rider had no need for a english horse and she was looking for a younger western horse to train. Lace was great, but the Quarter Horse was already getting the slightest bit of arthritis and Sarah needed a second horse just in case Lace got hurt.

She was planning to train a younger horse, and perhaps later sell the horse if it wasn't what she was looking for. Sarah preferred smaller Quarter Horses for reining, though some Quarter Ponies were also good. She normally always passed by the Paints without a second glance as they often weren't very good at reining, though she had seen some exceptions.

She stopped at Lot 2 and glanced at the gelding. A 13 year old Appaloosa gelding. Not quite what she was looking for breed wise, but he was about the right height for a reining horse and he had good confirmation. He was a good age, and had a good background in reining, though not such a good background in barrels. No matter, Sarah could always see what he did better at and then train him specifically in either reining or barrels if she decided to buy him.

After looking at his papers, she noticed a few names she recognized, but most of them she didn't know. "How much is his owner asking for him?" She asked, nodding when she heard the answer. A bit high for what he had training in, and so Sarah was able to get the price lowered. "I'll take him." She said, handing the money over before she was given his papers. Sarah was now the owner of 13 year old Spill. It was good thing she had hooked her truck up to her trailer.
