Turn away 'cause I need you more

Personality>> Jamie is quite the confused soul, with most of his personality restrained and seeming to hold a permanently uncertain gaze as he walks through the campus to his classes. This isn't from any sort of trauma, no, but instead from a constant conflict within himself. There is the 'Jamie' his mother pushes onto him, the good mannered, gentleman teenager who knows more fine etiquette than most adults twice his age- the Jamie expected to fill ribbon displays. The side of him that isn't under constant pressure, he prefers to call Stew. In fact, away from home, it's his nickname of choice; Stew sounds more casual to the ears and he doesn't need to cringe hearing his mother's shrill voice calling it in the back of his mind whenever it's spoken. And so, Stew is a quiet teenager with a racing mind. He spends most of his time studying just enough to pass his classes or trying to help out every way he can to keep himself occupied. When talked to, the boy makes sure to always think before he speaks-- as he was taught to do, and can come off as standoffish or usually awkward. Most people around his age don't bother with him because of this. Aside from the personality pushed onto him since he was a young child, there isn't much of Stew that's particularly strong right now. He keeps to his box, going through the usual expectations and spending little to no time discovering who he is as a person underneath it all. All he knows is that he has an interest or two from books he's read, and what is set ahead of him by his parent.

Likes>> The outdoors, keeping busy, being in the presence of others, animal sciences, praise.
Dislikes>> Being isolated, learning 'useless' things in classes, confrontation, messing up/being told he's wrong, most physical contact (he doubts the intentions of many around him).
Fears>> Not living up to the expectations placed on him & being kicked out of the academy.
Hopes>> Fulfill said expectations and live a life filled with success & to continue to work with horses the rest of his life.
Secrets>> He is a complete and utter coward. He's afraid to fail doing what he truly wants to do and for that reason, goes along the path set for him. This applies not only to personal goals but most things- standing up for himself, standing up for others, even avoiding minor disagreements. Stew is fine with not having any close friends because of this and claims he is fine with other students generally avoiding him as well.

Appearance>> Stew is not at all an imposing figure. Standing about 5'7'' he has a slim build and the clothing he wears is pretty much makes him inconspicuous- blending in with the usual jeans and a few layers during the colder seasons. He has a narrow face, usually with his gaze turned away from everyone as he works or studies or manages to get into a spot where he has nothing left to do but contemplate. His hair is shorter on the sides, his natural shade of brown and left down as messy bangs or on occasion styled up or slicked back when he feels like keeping it out of his eyes.
