x.X. Introvert
Confidence is lacking in her demeanor when around other people, particularly those who are more personable. Though her ability to express her emotion comes naturally through art, there is a weakness in her expression of emotion vocally. Art and literature is her way of letting out any emotion she would like to convey, and generally keeps it to herself rather than sharing it with even those that she is close to. Large, loud scenes make her uncomfortable and feel like she is being judged by the eyes of others. Part of the reason that she doesn't like social interactions is because of her voice being rough and lower than her appearance makes it out to be. She doesn't have many friends that would miss her much, just a few who she was open in front of.
x.X. Realist
There came a time in her young life when she gave up on the idea of miracles, magic, and mysteries. She believes that everything happens for a reason and that you walk into your own misfortunes -in most cases, not all.- The first impression people leave on her tends to stay as how she views them, because of her belief that people never change. Being a realist has made her quite cynical, but is generally a bit more gracious if it means it will get people to leave her alone. Sometimes her realism makes her seem pretentious and above others, which she doesn't mind because it doesn't allow her to become a victim... on the outside.

She keeps her writing in several notebooks that she carries around with her. No one has been allowed to read it as is reflects the darker and sometimes more adventurous side of her.

Appearance>>
Classified as a 'granny chic' dresser by her brother, Shailie tends to dress outside the norm. She prefers older style dresses with collars and sleeves to channel the writing from the early times that she loves so much. Had she the choice of dressing up, or dressing down, she always picks dressing up so that she looks presentable to keep up the image of sophistication. She even sleeps in silk pajamas, more for comfort than anything but she'd never tell.
She had dirty blonde hair that came from her mother's side of the family, and light brown eyes. Her hair, which doesn't come far past her collarbone is generally pinned back into a classic up-do or set with layered waves to keep it out of her face.
Her barn attire is almost always a pair of tan breeches and a polo or, if there is no riding involved at that time, a pair of jeans that can easily be tucked into a pair of neoprene barn boots and still a polo.

Full History>>
Shailie's family comes from a northern territory in Maine where her parents set up a family practice. Although they are not enormously rich, her family has made quite a decent living as her father is a chiropractor and her mother is a registered nurse. They tried for years to have children but found it hard to conceive, so they adopted their first child, a young boy named Jay. Several months after the adoption of the boy, Shailie's mother became pregnant with their last child, Shailie. They had high hopes for their children, praying that they would find a well paying job that would secure their futures. Unfortunately for the parents, neither cared about how much money they made. Jay planned to become a school counselor, and all Shailie wanted to do was pursue a career in literature.
To keep on the good side of their children, Shailie's parents offered to them anything they wanted, and what little girl's dream wasn't to have their very own pony? From the time she could sit in a saddle, Shailie was taught how to conduct herself around and ride horses at a local stable. Once she turned ten, her parents deemed her responsible enough to have her own horse, though they paid nice money to have someone take care of, and exercise her horse regularly. They bought her a flashy thoroughbred gelding to cater to her every horse fantasy, and earn their daughter's affection.
From a young age, Shailie was pushed into doing well in school, though no matter the effort she put in, she never could be at the top of every class. She quickly fell in love with English class, finding the complexity and general strangeness of the language fascinating. Up until her freshman year, they never asked for her to focus on her maths or sciences, but when the time came, they continuously pushed for her to develop in those areas. As she grew older, she became like every teen and wanted a life of her own, one that held her future in her own hands. Her parents wouldn't allow it, this is how she learned that her life wasn't in her own hands.
Her early high school year involved nothing but fallout's with her parents. Every day she would come home to a screaming match or one more threat to lose of the privileges she had been so gratefully given. It didn't take her long to become afraid of coming home to what her parents may have to say about her, so she tried staying later in school to 'work on homework' -which really meant that she was sitting in the auditorium or English class room, filling up her notebook with short stories and ideas for more.- The only one encouraging her to keep writing was her English teacher, who'd often write passes for her to come down and write as much through the day as she could.
Finally, after the longest fight of their lives, Shailie's parents wanted her as far away from those that were encouraging her and start her over. They wanted to get her to a place where she would be able to find a new love. Of course they still loved her and wanted her to be happy, so they got her to a place where she would be able to enjoy her free time with her horse.

Personality>>
The large cat is like her owner, in that she prefers to spend most of her time alone. Only when Shailie has come up from the barn and the scents have gathered on her skin and hair, does Koa become a loving cat. Every now and then she sleeps between or behind the legs of her owner, but when she does, Shay usually has to kick her off the bed because Koa likes to stretch out her body.
Koa is an indoor-outdoor cat, not really minding where she has to spend the night. Shailie disapproves of her being outdoors as often as she is, but with a meow like Koa has, there really is no keeping her inside without losing your whits. Within the last year or two, Koa has begun to lose her adventurous side and started to grow towards Shailie, leaving behind her long jump and tree climbing days.
History>>
Koa was found at a few weeks old in the hay loft of where Shailie had been taking her riding lessons. The owner of the stable didn't want any more barn cats running around, risking spooking riders and causing trouble with the other barn animals, so he asked around if anyone wanted a cat. Shailie fell head over heals in love with the precious kitten, so she begged and pleaded with her parents until they agreed to take on the Maine Coon mix. Ever since then, she has been the love of Shailie's life -besides her horse, of course,- and has heard the most of Shailie's life than anyone before.
