<<Played by Cara>>
Full Name>>Dr Mikhail Hunter Thatcher
Age>> Febuary 12 1989; 26
Staff or Student>> Staff, Counselor, Psychology Teacher
Face Claim>> Ben Barnes
Personality>> Comes off as cocky and arrogant with a silver tongue to those who don't know him. Though in all honesty, he's a really caring person who knows how to do his job - though he's also known to be able to sell a refrigerator to an eskimo.
While not "working" Mick enjoys spending quiet evenings with a good book, preferring to read over watching a movie. If given the choice to sit outside and read, he'll do that, and use the time to "people watch" while he seems to be reading his book.
People think his need to observe others is because he is an only child, but he just enjoys watching people.
Working with children
Sword fighting (and not that namby-pamby fencing)
Too much noise
People who always have to have the last word
Adults who talk over children
When it rains non-stop
Reality TV-shows (believes they are rigged)
Heavy metal (it's not music, just noise)
Not being able to do his job
Spiders (he won't jump on a chair, just don't expect him to remain near one)
Losing one of the kids he's trying to help
To settle into life at Blue Ridge and make friends
To inspire someone
Gave the dean of Portsmouth a bribe to get him in, though he didn't end up needing it. The dean said that he'd forget it had happened, but Mick's sure that the man will use that information if he ever needs to.
Appearance>> Mick's slightly too long brown hair and eyes give him a slightly roguish look, and with his chiselled face and well toned body (from both riding and swinging a sword around), he could be considered as attractive. He is one of the tallest people in his family, which created a few issues when he was younger, as he was six feet tall by the time he was fourteen.
Whether working or at play, Mick can be seen in a button-down shirt and pressed trousers - dressed to impress and all that even though his appearance has nothing to do with his parents any more. If you chance to see him riding, he wears a press polo shirt and breeches.
Markings>> Has a scar that runs from his left shoulder to solar plexus from a swordfight that went wrong.
Medical History>> Normal childhood illnesses: chickenpox, croup, stuff like that. Had to have his shoulder and chest stapled after a sword sliced through him.
Criminal History>> Nope, it would destroy his creditation
Mikhail is the only child of Margret and Edward Thatcher, he never understood why his parents didn't choose to have any other children, as they were well off and lived in a pretty decent sized house so money or room was never an issue. Although he knew his parents loved him dearly, his mother was one of those people who didn't like getting her hands dirty so she left his upbringing to the nanny and then the school matrons, as he was sent to boarding schools, going home in the weekends so his parents to show him off to their friends. Yes, it sounds horrible, but Mick loved the attention he got in the weekends.
As well as school, he became very serious about riding, though he was forbidden from ever playing polo, as his mother though it would look bad on them if he so much as broke his nose and disfigured his face, so he became an accomplished eventer.
Schoolwork bored the life out of him. It wasn't so much that is was easy, just boring, doing the same things over and over again and when he was sixteen, he begged his parents to allow him to apply for Portsmouth University - with the help of his teachers of course. Worried that the dean he spoke to would write him off as an over achiever, he offered the man a bribe which he later realised the error in his ways and didn't need to try and bribe the man.
While in varsity, studying psychology and law, he joined the medieval fighting club and during a "battle" gone wrong, his opponent's sword sliced through his armour and through the skin underneath, which required staples to put him back together.
Graduating the university shortly after his twenty-first birthday, he had both a bachelor and masters of Science.
Not wanting to return to his family home, as he'd found himself knocking heads with his father over his choice in degrees (his father had strongly wanted him to go to law school) and when one of his professors mentioned a friend in America that had a practice, in Ohio, so Mick boarded a plane and his new life started. He interned at the practice and gained his doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Ohio University, while he also did a Bachelor of Criminal Justice. And then went on to do a Bachelor in teaching while he was also interning at a psychology clinic.
It took him some time, but he eventually began to make a name for himself in the company he worked for (he'd been offered a job once his internship had finished), and he accepted all of the cases that no one else wanted to handle, not always the easiest for him because he was a pretty big and imposing looking guy when he had to deal with little children, however with the help of his trusted canine, Belle, he managed to break through the barriers these children spent so much energy in building.
Then, he received a call asking if he would take on a case in Kentucky, helping traumatised teens come to grips with a gunman on their campus and he couldn't say no.
Pet Name>> Basco
Registered Name>> --
Personality>> Basco comes across as a timid dog, his tail is always clamped between his legs when he's in new situations, and it takes some time to get to know other people, and animals, which is no fault of his own. Once you get past this though, he has loads of personality! Basco loves paying; be it fetch or tug of war. He'd never make a good bird dog though, as he's terrified of large birds. You want me to sleep on my bed? But I'd rather sleep on yours! He likes to think he's a lap dog, but will happily spend his day on his bed, as long as he has his teddy with him.
History>> Not a lot is know about Basco's first few years. He has obviously got some Shepherd in him, but who his parents were or where he was bred is unknown. He was purchased as a Christmas gift for a young family, and was doted on. Once he began to loose his "puppy" looks though, the family began to push him away, and finally when they moved home, Basco was left behind, chained to his kennel.
Picked up by a rescue shelter, Basco was tested to make sure that he could be rehomed, though it wasn't easy as everyone seemed to want puppies and he slowly withdrew. Mick was visiting friends when he saw the sign for the rescue shelter. He wasn't after a puppy, no time for that, and when he saw Basco, he knew that this was the dog for him.
