Veronica was already in her classroom about twenty minutes before she started class. She made sure that the whiteboard markers were properly put by the whiteboard, still being somewhat of an old fashioned teacher and loved using the whiteboard. Veronica picked up a black marker and wrote Herzlich Wilkommen zu Deutsch on the board, writing each word in fancy bubble letters. She smiled and put the cap back on the marker and put it on the ledge. The whiteboard was on the front wall and the various desks were in neat rows, ready to be moved into clusters when group work was asked for. There was a podium with a laptop and a small table at the front. Veronica set down her bag on the table and took out her textbook, attendance sheet and a pen. There was a huge map of Germany on one of the walls, a German flag above the whiteboard and several other posters to do with German grammar and of course a few soccer posters of both the German team and FC Bayern. Roni walked to the door, her heels clicking softly against the tiled floor. She stood outside of the room, leaning against the door frame, waiting for her students to arrive.
Nikki got up from her desk as soon as the teacher from her last class dismissed her. She thanked the teacher for the lesson and left the room. She pulled out her colour coded map and put her purple headphones over her head, continuing to listen to the various Billy Joel songs that were on the playlist that she had. She followed the arrow on the map, which led her to the German classroom. Nikki was more than looking forward to taking the foreign language, because her forefathers spoke German and immigrated from Germany. She noticed the teacher leaning against the door frame. "Hello." she said, smiling at the teacher before she entered the classroom. She saw that she was the first one in the class, so she picked the desk that sat front and centre in the class. She pulled back the chair and sat down, setting her backpack on the ground beside her desk. Nikki placed her water bottle and tea thermos on two corners of her desk. Then, she opened her bag and pulled out her notebook, pencil case, German dictionary and text book from her bag as well. She placed them in a neat pile, ready for the class to begin when the other students arrived.

Tijn left his previous class with an extra moment to head to the restroom, as they'd been dismissed a bit earlier. Even that process was made the quicker by being one of the first students out in the halls, and before too long, he was on his way to the German classroom, already excited to learn some of the new language that he'd signed up for. A few years of French in middle school, some elementary Dutch education at home, that was the extent of his language experience. Well, Blue Ridge didn't offer Dutch, and he'd never really been such a fan of French, so now German it was.
He walked to the classroom, smiling at the woman who was standing at the door, “Good morning.” He walked past the woman and then glanced around, spotting only one other student present already. Deciding he might as well find a study partner as quickly as he could, Tijn walked over to the girl, pausing in front of her desk with a friendly smile, “Hi! I'm Tijn, may I sit with you?” He waited for a response and then chose a desk in accordance with it, setting down his bag and then pulling out his notebook and pens, figuring that he could grab anything else as it was needed.
