Personality>> The best word to describe Apollo would be an idealist. He doesn’t like conflict, and will avoid it at all cost; raised voices in any manner sour his mood. He’s flexible, laid back, and he doesn’t make much of a fuss about things. Apollo loves to stay clean, and his coat is pretty much pristine 99% of the time. Yet another thing he loves is water. He adores it, so if you’re going swimming in a creek, make sure to bring him along. Apollo is a very friendly guy, despite his size, and he loves everyone. As far as herd mentality, he loves everyone, and everyone loves him. Handling, he is a very easy horse to be around; he’s great to lead, and has great ground manners. Apollo loves sugar cubes, so if you’re stopping by his stall, be sure to give him a few!
Caution Around>>Like many humans, Apollo has a fear of clowns, and will spook if he sees them.

Basic History>> Like many warmbloods, Apollo was sold well before his birth. He was born on a Westphalian breeding/competing stable, was given the brand, and then was sold at a year old to a competition stable in the U.S. Since he was handled early on it made training much easier for the stable. The saddle was introduced to him at age two, and he was first ridden at age three. The owners found that, despite his cuddly persona, he easily had the scope and jumping ability of a grand-prix level jumper, and they went in that direction with his training at first.

As part of the original trade deal, Apollo had to go back to Germany at the age of 5, once they had competed him a few times. From there, he was started in dressage, and he loved that almost as much as he did show jumping.

When the Hochstrassers were in the horse market for their two children, they immediately spotted Apollo, and recognized his jumping ability. So, they bought him for Elena’s 13th birthday, and Elena and Apollo have spent the past year getting to know each other.
