Saturday dawned with a nice chance to sleep in, for Sina. However, at some point, she did have to get up, and she got dressed and washed before she grabbed some breakfast from the cafeteria and headed to the barn. Sara had emailed her, asking for a favor, and Sina had agreed. Rolo had some potential buyers coming today that Sara wanted him shown off to advantage.
She grabbed Rolo's grooming box and left it in one of the grooming stalls, leaving Derecho right next to it. After she had haltered Rolo, she walked the paint gelding over to the grooming stall and clipped him into the cross ties. She started with the gelding's mane, combing through it carefully.

She'd been called out again the night before for a colicking horse, and it had taken herself and the owners a night of walking the horse around before they were all sure that things were in the clear and she had returned to campus to get a little sleep and then handle the barn chores and looking after her current patients.
With her phone attached to the holder on her thigh, she made her way over to the barn to check on her two horses. Tau, as usual, acted like he had been neglected for a month and, if he were a dog, she could imagine him jumping up and down and licking her.Thankfully though, the gelding was just sniffing every inch of her that he could reach.
Sill was his usual rude self and she kept her distance as she rubbed his nose, as she didn't feel like getting crushed between the Mustang and the door of the stall.
Walking down to the tack room, she saw Sina there with Rolo. "Top of the mornin' to ya." she greeted with a smile. "How are you and your friends today?" She was happy that she'd run into Sina, as she wanted to ask the girl if she would help her with something, but she would lead into that.

Sina had almost finished with Rolo's mane when she hit a few tangles. Grumbling, she reached for the bottle of ShowSheen, applying it more liberally to the tangle, although she was careful not to get it anywhere near where the saddle blanket would be sitting. After giving it a moment to soak in, she attempted to remove it again with a comb, and this time, met with success.
As she was about to start on the gelding's tail, she heard a greeting and looked up to smile at the woman, "Hey Dr. Carr!" She set down the comb and grabbed a curry instead, something that could keep her near the gelding's head while she talked - It didn't matter what order she cleaned Rolo in anyway, "I'm well, thanks. Rolo has some potential buyers coming later today, so Sara asked me to make sure he looked his best, and possibly to ride him, if she can't make it down. There was something of a snafu in her schedule." She shrugged, not too bothered by having to groom the gelding a bit early, "Anyway. How are you?"

Her eyebrows lifted at the thought of Rolo being sold, though she knew that the overall decision was up to Sara in the end, though she couldn't understand why the girl wasn't selling the gelding to the Academy. "I'll hang around in case said buyers decide they want a vet check, if they haven't brought their own." Which was why she would hang around, because some outside vets were worse at making things up than the one who actually knew the animal. And she wouldn't mind catching up with Sara either.
She smiled at the question. "A complete night's sleep would be really nice, but I can't complain." She replied. Her eyebrows rose in concern as she studied Sina for a moment. "How are you feeling about the possibility of Rolo being sold?" She knew that the girl had her own horse now, but the girl had formed a bond with the Paint Horse, so part of her surely had to be hurting.

Sina grinned as the vet offered to stick around, "That'd be great! I don't know if they did or not, but thank you!" She glanced at the watch she wore, "They aren't supposed to be here for another hour or so, so I have lots of time, I just wanted to have enough time to bathe Rolo if he managed to get a stain." Which was completely possible with so much white, but luckily Rolo hadn't done that after all.
At the vet's question, Sina sighed, thinking about it, and then shrugged, "I don't really know. I'll miss him, but with Vaxi now I've been doing less with Rolo." Not nothing, but splitting time between two horses did lessen how much time she could spend with each, especially after school, "So maybe it'd be better for him." She patted the horse's neck, "I'm kinda glad it's not my decision, if I'm honest. Sara can decide what's best for him." She did hope that the other girl would make it down, she liked Rolo's owner. "How's your project horse doing?" He wasn't exactly a new horse at the barn anymore.

"Ah, but that would be because he didn't have prior warning that it was going to happen, unlike the day before a show when they know that you want them to remain clean." She'd ridden a bald faced mare for competitions and she was sure that the mare intentionally rubbed her face in her bedding the night before a show.
She nodded as Sina spoke about her new horse and smiled as the topic turned to her own new horse. "He's a bit of a brat, which I'm going to do my bed to train out of him, though he's doing well over fences so I think my idea of it being his old owner who was at fault was correct. Speaking of my project pony..." She gave Sina a grin. "I was wondering if you would be able to help me out with something? I do want to sell Sill on at some point, but I want to sort out what was skipped in his training to make sure he's ready to handle the world beyond competitions. Would you and Der be able to help me out with that?" She didn't know if the gelding had been introduced to dogs properly, but she wanted to do it in a safe environment in case he hadn't.

Sina grinned, "That's very likely." She patted Rolo's neck, "Although he's better than some about that." She generally didn't have problems with Rolo sprouting grass or poop stains, which was nice. Especially since so much of him was white!
She listened as Demeter talked about her project horse, nodding at the 'diagnosis'. "Human problems." She'd seen it in dog training too. Some humans just sucked at communication with non-human creatures. At Dr. Carr's request, Sina considered, "You want to make sure he's okay around dogs?" She wasn't opposed to the idea, but she just wanted to be sure she was on the same track, "We could do that." She knew her dog was okay around horses, after all, "Ideally not today, though. Do you have a time or place in mind?"

"Don't say that too quickly, or else he might feel the need to prove you wrong and when you come out to see him next he'll be a brown horse."
She nodded at how intuitive Sina was. "I'm going to take a stab at this, and guess that you see the same kind of thing with dogs?" She laughed as Sina hit the nail right on the head for the second time. "Exactly!" She went through her internal diary, she had nothing pressing for the next day, unless she got a call out or an emergency arrived. "How about tomorrow afternoon, in my arena?" At least in her own arena there was no chance of a canine being in there being a problem for any other horse, the same reason for if Sill decided to act like the hounds of hell were after him. She chuckled at that thought. "If Sill doesn't completely lose the plot at seeing Der, I'll just get the two of you to walk toward and around us."

The girl snorted, "Yeah right. He's a good boy." She patted Rolo's neck, then swapped out her brushes, "Don't get any ideas from her, Rolo."
The vet seemed to get where she was coming from, and Sina chuckled, "Yep." She thought of some of the dogs that had come through their house over the years. It seemed that she'd guessed the woman's point, and nodded at the time, "That sounds good to me." At least Rolo would be done, sold or not. "Sounds like a good place to start. I can work him naked, if you'd like?" The harness did make him look like something non-dog-like, to some dogs. And the dog wasn't reliant on the harness to behave, either, "That would mean he is without his harness. Not the other way around."

"If it happens, blame Sill." She said as she held her hands in the air.
She giggled at the thought of a naked dog, and the images it brought to mind were not of a canine without a harness, though she quickly sobered up. "Um... yeah, without the harness would probably be better, as most doges that Sill would come across would be on a lead or with nothing at all." She agreed.
She rubbed Rolo's nose. "I'll let you get on with it. I'll be hovering around the barn, might even pretend to clean some tack, if you need me."

Sina nodded at Dr. Carr's words, "Exactly." She chuckled, "We could do no leash too, but it makes people feel like he's better behaved when there's a strip of nylon attached to him." There was rarely a call for Derecho to actually work off-leash, but Sina still kept up his training. With a big grin, she added, "He could bark like a maniac too. But I think that would not have the intended purpose."
She grinned at the vet, "Thank you. I'll make sure to let them know there's a vet around if they like the look of him." She turned back and gave the gelding one last swipe with her brush, before she grabbed his hoof pick, "Alright, boy. Come on, up now."
