Gerri nodded at that, "Sometime." She grinned, then turned her attention to Genie as the conversation petered out. She asked the gelding for a trot and let him pull away from the other pair, focusing on their warmup so that they could work on their counter canter later without risk of injury.

Gerri was pleased with how Genie was acting that day - He was always a good horse, but he seemed to be n an especially good mood that day, for whatever reason. Before too long, it felt, they were cantering around the arena, and then, after a simple lead change, she had the gelding bend slightly to their left, bowing out from their line around the edge of the arena to get that curve without having too much curving.

Sawyer watched as the other horse began to canter around the arena. The horse was gorgeous, roaming freely around the arena. Dressage movements were always so elegant. She then focused back onto Ransom, and switched up from her extensions to work on her passage. They trotted around the arena, careful to stay out of Gerri's way. Ransom was doing well, picking his legs up to do exactly what she wanted. She hadn't worried about the passage, but she figured it never hurt to work on things.

After a couple of bending exercises, Gerri let Genie drop back down to a walk, patting the gelding's neck for a job well done. They weren't done - They'd go back to those again briefly later - But there was no point to overpracticing it when they were just getting the hang of doing it together. So she let the gelding walk on a loose rein, giving him a lap of the arena to relax.

Sawyer continued to have Ransom work on his passage for a minute, but noticed Gerri slow her horse to a walk. She nudged Ransom into a normal trot, and caught up with the girl. Her gelding was doing great, but also deserved a break. And why not have some company doing it? Hopefully the other girl wouldn't mind. "You guys look great together," she said, smiling.

Gerri looked up as Sawyer came close again. She had been lost in her own world, only paying enough attention to the other rider so that she didn't get in her way. But that was nice of her to say! She smiled, "Thanks!" She patted Genie's neck, "He's a lot better at it than I am - I'm the one who has to practice, really." She didn't return the compliment - That would be lying, since she hadn't been watching Sawyer that closely, "Was that a passage you were working on?" She had gotten a few glimpses, "It looked awesome from what I saw!"

Sawyer nodded. "Not a problem," she said. "You definitely don't look like you need too much practice. But it never hurts!" She smiled at the girl. They had looked great together. She had been paying attention to the pair, as her curiosity peaked. She liked to watch other people ride, to see what she could learn from them. Sometimes, it was nothing. But sometimes, she could learn a lot. Or she could try to give a few tips, if she thought they wouldn't be offended by it. "Oh," she said, "We were working on our collected trot." She blushed at the compliment. "Thank you!"

Gerri laughed, "Thanks!" She patted Genie's neck again, "He makes me look good." She nodded at the girl's response, although she was pretty sure she'd seen a distinct passage -There was a difference, after all. Or Sawyer didn't know the difference, or her collected trot really needed some work. There was just no winning response here, so she just shrugged, "You're welcome!"
