Kall laughed and nodded. "So, racing where he turned corners at speed, awesome!" He laughed harder, and he was sure that as Cue flickered his ears back and then forward again, was rolling his eyes at him.
He kept a light contact with the gelding, making sure that Cue didn't break habit and try and turn this into a race, albeit a walking one. How smooth is his walk? If anything else, you could see if you can turn him into a games pony... horse, whatever. After all, they're all about speed." While he was trying to be funny, it wasn't too bad an idea.

Jessamine managed a small laugh at that, "Yeah, I guess. He does that part well!" And there weren't any other horses in the arena for barrels.
She paused as she considered the question, "He's pretty smooth, I haven't really done mounted games before." Yes, some weaving here or there, or an egg-and-spoon race, but not formally. "But yes, he'd probably give it his all to reach the line before another horse!" She shrugged, "Although I don't know if encouraging it in some settings will help keep him behaving at other times."

Kall knew that he was really no help in this, as he'd never seriously ridden Western before. Sure, they'd had fun day at the riding school where he had started riding, but not competitively.
He laughed and nodded. "Yeah, encouraging the issue you want to sort out, is probably not a way of sorting it out, and not very fair on the horse." He had a feeling that the seasoned games ponies could turn that drive on and off, as they would know what a games arena looked like from a normal one, but with a horse just learning it would just be all about go-go-go all the time. "You could put a green ribbon on his tail?" He suggested with a shrug. "He may not be green or inexperienced, in the sense that the ribbon means, but it would let people know to give you the room you need, and won't label him as aggressive or a kicker as red or blue ribbon would." He knew that there were a few horses on campus who wore ribbons on their tails while out on the trails, but not so much in the arena.

Jessa considered that, then shrugged, "Maybe. We'll see." She was going to go talk to Ms. Carr about it after they'd finished, and discuss options with her. The last thing she needed was to be kicked out of lessons because Alien wouldn't cooperate. If that was the case, at least she could send him back and tell Michael he wasn't working out... So not wholly a bad thing.
She had fallen into her own thoughts for a brief moment, but she turned her attention back to Kall as soon as she realized, "Sorry. I think I should go see Ms. Carr, now that we've had a," she paused, "Well, a calmer ride." The horse was still obviously nosing ahead, but he hadn't taken off, at least. "Thank you so much, Kall. We've interrupted your workout enough." She turned Alien away from the gelding and into the middle of the arena before she stopped him, sliding out of the saddle and taking firm hold of the gelding's reins.

Kall smiled and nodded. The main thing was that Jessa would now leave the arena with her having been in in control of the ride, not leaving because she had been unceremoniously dumped by her horse and didn't want to get back on while riding alone... though there again, if he hadn't entered, Alien may never have acted out. "Truth be told, we actually interrupted your ride." He said with a smile as he continued walking his gelding along the rail.
