Blue Ridge is a fictional town located deep in the heart of Kentucky. It is home to one of the most well known equestrian academies in the United States. Students and staff from all over the world join the academy for what it has to offer. Do you have what it takes to join us and learn from the Academy?

After grooming Lenore, Leander walked the mare over to the hay barn, where the various carts and harnesses were accumulated that the academy, and its various driving humans, had gathered. He went through the motions of harnessing the mare easily, and then connected the cart. After he'd finished, and made sure all of the connections were secure, he hopped up onto the seat, where Akamu was waiting patiently, and picked up the lines, clucking the mare forward and pointing her in the direction of the Green Hill trails. Once they hit the trail, he paused to let Akamu down, and then they continued on, the collie running alongside the vehicle.

Kate whistled cheerfully to herself as she made her way down to the barn, letting herself into Meg's stall with a clatter. "Hi, girl!" the blonde exclaimed, running a hand down the mare's neck before beginning to briskly work her mane into a plait. Having completed this task, she went about the process of tacking up with speed and precision, finally leading the mare out onto the yard and across to the hay barn, where she spent a moment or two in collecting the cart which matched the harness that she'd picked up earlier. A moment or so to connect everything, another few seconds to check, and then she hopped up nimbly into the driving seat, took up the reins, clicked gently to the horse and they were off. The harness jingled gently, the high wheels rumbled over the ground and Kate grinned. This was the life.

Leander felt himself relax as the mare plodded placidly along the trail, the sunlight shining through the empty branches - Any leaves were long gone in the winter, and the rodent had decided they had another six weeks of winter. The sun was out, though, and it wasn't too chilly that day, for Kentucky winter. He left the lines loose, not necessarily thinking about picking up the speed anytime soon - It was just a chance to get out and see something different than an arena for him and Lenore.

"Trot on!" Kate called out briskly to the mare, rolling the r with gusto, and the horse obliged, breaking into a lumbering trot which gradually became more rhythmical as they moved along. Something was squeaking, and though it was probably the springs, Kate made a mental note to check over the cart when they got back. It didn't sound loud enough to be anything important, which was a rule that had generally stood her in good stead. So absorbed was she in listening to the various creaks and groans of the equipment that the blonde very nearly missed noticing the other conveyance ahead. "Whoa, girl... steady..." Kate soothed, gently bringing Meg back down to a walk as they came up behind the other driver.
