Tux smiled at the little bluetooth speaker that he'd purchased at the beginning of the summer. It was sitting on a ledge, playing jazz quietly as Tux himself stood in the barn's only grooming stall, Call in the cross-ties. He had finished most of the paperwork for that day, and was ready for some time spent working with horses - They were the reason he'd taken this job, after all.
The mare he was currently grooming, one of the pair he'd accepted from Katherine's friends, was a sweetheart, and he could see her being a lovely addition to the breeding program - If her next pregnancy proved more successful than the breeding she had officially been sent with, which had slipped. But that happened occasionally, and it meant the mare could enjoy outings further afield.

Hazel was going a little stir-crazy in her dorm. Her roommate, Kekona, seemed nice. At the very least, Hazel didn't see any problems appearing in the future. Being on campus, surrounded by trails, horses, and buildings Hazel wouldn't have figured she'd be going stir-crazy already. She'd already walked the school buildings, and located the gymnasium. There was a pool. She hadn't joined the swim team, mostly because she didn't want to get overwhelmed with things to do once school started. It'd be nice to use the pool however just as a way to relax. She decided to go explore the other barns. It certainly couldn't hurt to know what the other barns looked like, although Hazel was fairly certain they'd all be similar. If, and this was a big "if", but if she wound getting another horse who was in a different barn Hazel would like the know the lay-out before. Although, she didn't see another horse anywhere in her future. Prince was enough, and Hazel loved him. There was no need for another horse; she wasn't planning on doing a discipline Prince couldn't do. Seeing as she had foal handling come fall, Hazel figured she'd go find the Evening Primrose barn. Locating the correct barn, Hazel walked in. It would probably be empty, except for the mares and perhaps the barn manager or barn staff. It felt a little like snooping she thought. Hazel heard music playing; either it played 24/7, and she knew some horses liked classical or instrumental music, or someone was playing it. Probably while doing paperwork, or barn stuff. Music always made tasks go by quicker. She followed the sound, curious about where it was coming from. At the very least, perhaps she could say "hi" to someone if there happened to be another person in the barn. "Hello," Hazel said louder than usual to be heard over the music even though it was playing quietly. The horse in the cross-ties being groomed was gorgeous. Hazel couldn't tell what breed or breeds she was, but her colouring was stunning. "She's beautiful. What's her name?" Hazel asked the man.

Call noticed the newcomer before Tux did, him being absorbed in the process of untangling the mare's mane. Beautiful, yes. But also really, really annoying, he mused to himself. However, he did hear the hello, and turned around to see a brunette student standing there. With a smile, he stuck the mane brush into his pocket and turned his attention to the girl, "Hello there." He patted the mare's neck, "This is Call, or Call of the Wind, one of our broodmares." He paused, "Were you looking for something, or just exploring?" A pretty common thing, over the summers, and not one he took issue with.
