Personality>> For being the foal of a show stallion, Shadowwyn had no interest in showing as she grew from foal to the beautiful young mare she is today. Shadowwyn is actually a very gentle horse. Her sweet nature makes her an ideal horse for children. When Edward gave Rosalyn the kind spirited horse, Rosa took Shadowwyn out on the different trails Edward had approved for his daughters to ride on. Shadowwyn loved trail riding. The mare seems to be able to smell when Rosa is coming into the stables. As soon as Rosa steps foot into the stables, Shadowwyn starts to whinny and get excited. Rose will typically greet Shadowwyn with a few sugar cubes or a carrot. Shadowwyn, being a gentle horse, prefers a rider that is loose on the reigns and doesn’t hold them too tight. She doesn’t like when her head is being forced back. Rosalyn spent many months trying to figure out how Shadowwyn liked to be ridden. Rosa is hoping that Shadowwyn will be the first horse of her own stable for when she starts teaching young children how to ride. She feels Shadowwyn will be a great horse for young children to start off on and the mare will help to teach children to not hold the reigns so tight.

Basic History>> Shadowwyn was born to a mare at Roades Stables. Edward Roades had decided to breed his prized Friesian mare with a show stallion in hopes of producing an equally amazing show foal. Shadowwyn was born from the union. The foal was not as graceful as Edward had hoped and she clearly was not the show horse material he wanted. She was gentle and behaved whenever his daughters, Rosalyn and Avalon, came up to her. After a about a year and a half, Edward decided to give the foal to the then eleven year old Rosalyn as a gift. He could see that the two females had a spectacular connection. With Rosa’s gentle, stern teaching voice and soft touch, Shadowwyn turned into an exceptional western riding horse who enjoyed trail riding just as much as her rider. Rider and horse have been inseparable since Edward brought them together. Shadowwyn has even gotten along very well with Rosalyn’s cat, Sly.
