Blue Ridge is a fictional town located deep in the heart of Kentucky. It is home to one of the most well known equestrian academies in the United States. Students and staff from all over the world join the academy for what it has to offer. Do you have what it takes to join us and learn from the Academy?
This trail leads through the fields surrounding the Academy and actually ends up at the Blue Ridge Township! The fairgrounds where the trail ends have a handful of pens and hitching posts, along with fresh water for any horses that the students choose to leave there while they head into the buildings.
About half a day's ride away from the academy, a waterfall pounds into a small pool, surrounded by rocks. The rocks are slippery and treacherous for horses, but a few yards back, the thick forest crowds close, thus providing safer footing.
The Bridge Trail leads, as the name implies, over a bridge across the Barren River. However, after that it leads to a smooth track, which is checked over weekly for holes, which are then filled in. This smooth path makes for a perfect place to gallop or race, and eventually loops back around in a lollipop shape.
