Birth Year>> 2006
Sex>> Mare
Breed>> Gypsy/Tinker Horse
Breed Registry>> Gypsy Horse Registry of America
Coat Colour>> Bay Tobaino
Stable Colour>> Pink
Height>> 15.1
Personality>> Galbi isn't the most energetic of horses, in fact lazy is a good word to use to describe her. While she's not one to shy away from hard work, she's also not likely to go bolting off just because she can, even if she gets a fright.
Put a collar around her neck, harness on her back, and she's as happy as larry. Put a saddle on her and you would think she's never been backed, as she will rear up and buck, anything to get it off. She's great to be ridden though, just don't expect her to wear a saddle.
For a large horse, she's great at making people think that she is starved, as she will clear every evidence of hay from her stall so anyone looking in will think that she has missed out when the hay was being handed out. And if you're fool enough to believe her, she'll do it all over again to see if she can catch out the next person.
She has no intention of being the alpha mare when turned out with other, yet she'd not going to be the bottom dog either, she's perfectly happy in the middle of the pecking order, not afraid to remind those below her of their place.
Gabli is a little cautious of adults and it takes her ages to create a bond with them, so don't expect her to be eating out of your hand right from the get go, so if you need her attention quickly, classic horse treats are the way to go. With that said though, she doesn't seem to mind miniature humans (aka children), and will happily let them plod around on her (her laziness comes in handy at times).
Caution Around>> While she doesn't mind vets, she hates thermometers you're going to put that WHERE?
Basic History>> Born at a specialty stud farm, her life started out perfectly and she had everything that a foal would possibly need, including her dam until she was weaned at eight months, and the best vet care that could be offered. Right from day dot, it became obvious that this little filly wasn't going to be a race horse, so it was a good thing she wasn't a Thoroughbred, but she was smart and picked things up quickly, making her a joy to train.
Sold as a two year old, Galbi's real training began, and this is also where it is thought her distrust of people came from, but nothing could be proven. The filly was trained to wear a harness and then started out in tandem to eventually learn to pull a wagon by herself without going crazy when passed by vehicles or other horses.
Three years later, she found herself at a sales yard, looking a little worse for wear, due to being at an over crowded establishment before the people there were forced to surrender half of their number, and she went home with an elderly couple. Now Galbi's main job was to drive the couple to church once a week and lived a pampered life. The couples grandchildren adored the mare, and she in turn adored them just as much and she would happily plod around the pastures with three little ones on her back.
Sadly, not every happily ever after, lasts forever, and when the couple were forced to sell their property and move into a retirement facility, the family had no choice but to put the mare up for sale, as they knew nothing about horses, and none of them wanted to take on the burden, so the Gypsy Horse was again sent to the sale yards in Marion, Illinois. Aishe didn't know what she was looking for, but when she saw a picture of the mare, she knew that Galbi would be coming to Blue Ridge, now the woman just needed to talk to someone to borrow a vehicle that could tow a trailer, and borrow a trailer too...
