Personality>> Lee is the kind of person that lives for helping out others. He is always ready to help with minor things, and for the most part, more than willing to drop whatever he is doing to help out another person in need. He still misses his wife every day, but has hidden the pain deep down, and doesn't let anyone see it. He loves rescuing animals, and if he could, he would have the whole animal shelter come live in his home. As it is, his apartment will be home to one permanent resident and various foster patients. Lee is the type of person who brings his work home with him, and most of the smaller stuff he could possibly need is in chests in the back of his car.
Likes>> Animals, helping others, saving lives, rain, the beach, rescuing animals, trail rides
Dislikes>> Rude people, ignorant owners, snow, cattle, grasshoppers, putting animals down, buses
Fears>> Buses, cattle stampedes
Hopes>> Get people to realize that mutts are great companions, get his dog to trust people
Secrets>> His wife died in a car accident
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> Standing at 6'2", with enough muscle to make people, and animals, think twice before challenging him. While he works with an air of confidence around him, Lee is anything but rough. His hair, going along with the dark theme, is black, and cut short enough that it stands up without the use of gel. He is usually seen wearing dark jeans or other dark pants, and a dark tshirt, usually emblazoned with various logos from around the area. His eyes are a dark brown, and without the right light, they do actually look black.
Markings>> Pawprint tattoo on his right foot, minor scars all over.
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>>Got stitched up a couple of times
Criminal History>>Nope
Full History>> Lee was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. He grew up around a lot of animals, with new ones coming and going all of the time. He learned to ride as soon as he could walk, on an old mare that had been a resident at the 'barnyard', as his parents called it. He attended UC Davis, and later the UC Davis School of Vet Med. This was where he met his wife, a woman a year younger than him who was going into large animal vet work. Her name was Alexandra. They grew to love each other, and although they split up at the end of college, they found each other when Lee was twenty-nine. They married, and while they tried to have a family, it was an impossible thing for the pair of them.
After thirteen years together, everything changed. Alexandra was killed in a traffic accident, when her car was hit dead-on by a bus. Lee stayed around for half a year, trying to make the town that had been their home for a few years stay that way, but the memories were just too painful. In an attempt to start fresh, he moved out to Kentucky and took the job of Small Animal Vet at Blue Ridge.
We found love in a hopeless place
Pet Name>>Akamu (Aka)
Registered Name>> N/A
Age>>1.5 years
Species>> Canine
Breed>>Border Collie X
Registry>> N/A
Personality>>Akamu is very shy around new people. This is the first thing anyone notices about him, as he goes to hide behind Lee as soon as he sees anyone new. When it is just him and a new dog, however, he's much more outgoing. To dogs, he is what some call a 'Nightingale', a very attuned, sensitive dog. He's willing to give every canine he comes into contact with what they need, from a good romp around the field or just a quiet companion for a while. He takes much longer to come around to people, usually requiring quite a lot of coaxing to be friendly. The one exception is people who are crying, to whom he will come and let them pet him, to help ease their sorrow.
History>> Akamu was found by some animal shelter personnel in Davis, California. He was supposed to be euthanised, due to his fear of people, but when Lee came to do that, he formed a bond with the dog and brought him home. He named him Akamu because of his fur color. When Lee brought home a shell-shocked foster dog, he realized how empathetic Akamu was. Whenever a patient comes in with too much blood lost, Akamu is a blood donor for Lee.
