Kevin mentally groaned when he saw all of the questions that he would have to answer. He kind of liked reading for knowledge and information, but he hated reading to find the answers to questions. Didn't teachers know that students would get more information out of things if they actually read them instead of just skimming for answers?
Kevin wanted to read it first and then read the questions and look back at it for the answers, but he knew from previous school experience that he probably wouldn't have time to do that, so he decided to read the questions first and then just skim it for answers. If he time left then maybe he could actually read it. He starred at the questions and realized that they were hard. This was going to take awhile.
g. How does the article address the answer to the question: “If the vivid scenes of night are set off by the pre-programmed flip of a chemical switch, what room does that leave for the stirring of unconscious desires, the replaying of childhood traumas, the acting out of psychological conflict – in short, for all the dream material that therapists and their patients routinely interpret?” Not much, that's why those dreams occur in a different part of the brain.
Kevin knew that some of his answers weren't very good, and some of them were a little abrupt, but he didn't really care. He just wanted to finish. This seemed kind of interesting and he was looking forward to actually reading it when he was done with the questions.
