Gerri turned her attention back to Genie, focusing on her position in the saddle. She was vaguely aware that Mr. Ropata and his horse were moving too, but she had enough to focus on without paying him any attention. As long as they stayed on the track, she should be fine. And now she was approaching a corner, and Gerri focused on getting Genie to turn nicely, although he was still a bit wide. She'd have to work on getting him further into the corner, but that was for later. For now, this was good enough.

Bruce rubbed the mare's neck as she slid to a halt after trotting back through the poles and he decided that they would call it an end for the day, as the mare had done well with what had been asked of her, and she had stopped rushing the last time they went through the poles.
Walking on a lose rein, he began to cool her down as he thought about which of the other horses really needed working that day and which ones he could allow to slide. His thoughts then turned to his plans for the summer vacation... just that his plans had nothing to do with summer.

Gerri kept Genie walking around the edge of the arena, although once she was far enough away from the poles that Mr. Ropata seemed to be using, she asked him for a circle, trying to imagine the cones that Ms. Carr had set up the first time she'd ridden. It was a bit wonky, but it could, technically, be called a circle!

As he hadn't worked up a sweat with Dazzle, he didn't take long to have her mind off racing around and her plodding nicely, and Bruce decided that now was a good time to put her away. "I'm going to put Dazzle away and then come back to put the things away I've been using." He said as he reined the mare in and swung to the ground, grunting as his feet hit the ground sooner than he had been expecting. "You are more than welcome to remain in here as long as you like, and I won't be in your way."

Gerri looked over as Mr. Ropata spoke, then nodded, "Okay." She glanced at her watch, "I was hoping to ride for a little bit more at least. Thank you for letting me share an arena with you!" She smiled at him, "And Dazzle is adorable, by the way." She liked the pony, and the other ponies that were on campus - Although to her, most horses were adorable.

"I'm happy to share the arena any time outside of class." He told her warmly.
Taking the mare back to the barn, Bruce washed her down and then returned her to her stall with a stable sheet over her while she finished drying out. He then put her tack away and then returned to the arena, whistling as he walked, and began to pick up the bending poles and returned them to the shed that he shared with the trail students.

Gerri kept Genie moving for a little bit longer, throwing in the occasional circle for their amusement, and kept him out of Mr. Ropata's way as the man collected his poles. After a while, though, after the man had left, she brought the gelding into the middle of the arena and stopped him, before slipping out of the saddle. She led Genie out of the arena and back to the barn, murmuring to him, "I'll let you run in the pasture after I groom you, okay?"
