Maeve felt lost and alone when she awoke the next morning, and from the dim light she could see coming through the gap in the curtain that it was still early, but she was now wide awake. Grabbing the clothes she had put on her desk the night before, she walked into the bathroom and had a quick shower before dressing. Grabbing her bag and boots, she left the room and made her way outside.
As she made her way over to where she could see the barns, she dug though her bag, desperate to find the map she had been given in the office, as it had everything on it that she needed to know, and gave a small frustrated scream when she couldn't find it.
Standing in the parking area by the barns, she looked from one building and then the other, trying to work out which was which, as she could at least remember that they had different names, after trees, but she couldn't for the life of her remember which one was which, just from the map. She glanced to her right. "You're not going to be any help, are you?" She asked the dragon. "Thought not." With a sigh, she closed her eyes and held out her hand, moving from the direction of one building to the other, letting the universe guide her. Opening her eyes, she nodded as she stepped forward.
Pausing at the door, she looked around to make sure no people were around and then looked at the dragon again. "You had better go and find yourself a sunny spot out here to curl up." She said. "I don't know how the horses are going to react to... well, you." Sure, to everyone else, she was talking to herself, but she could see the large blue and gold Chinese dragon, who was her spirit guide, as clearly as she could see everything else, and as horses... well, any animal, were more receptive to the energies around them, they would probably also notice the dragon, and that was the last thing she needed on her first trip to the barn.
Walking into the barn, she felt even more alone as she walked down the aisle, staring at the beautiful horses in the stalls. She grinned as she found the door labeled Barn Manager, and she tentatively stepped forward as she knocked on the door.
