Amy nodded, "That'll be great." Perhaps the three of them could work something out, or she would just switch it up a bit, "It's a lot of fun." She followed Cortney's glance over to where Wolf was, nodding, "He's fine with some kinds, although he leaves some of them for me." She didn't take the dog into the ring when she had competitions, any more than when she was riding, but when they were out for hacks, she had taught the dog some of the simpler gates.
Thinking about a two-thousand word essay to buy a horse, Amy grinned, "I don't know how many people would be willing to enter that sale, then." She glanced at the mare, "Although then again, she's probably worth every word." She felt bad as she heard Cortney making excuses for her not recognizing her and frowned, "I'll admit, I was pretty lost. I'm sorry."
Upon hearing about Cortney's favourite part of jumping, Amy smiled, "That sounds awesome." She hadn't ever tried jumping, nor did she expect that her father would go for it, but still, she could admire it from a distance, the discipline and the teamwork between horse and rider. "And dressage?" The one sport she would never have the patience for, it seemed too strict for her.

Cortney grinned and nodded her head. "Jumping is awesome!" She agreed. "There's nothing like flying over a jump, the bond between horse and rider, as the rider has to believe that the horse will get them over the jump while the horse is trusting the rider not to put them in danger." She giggled. "Sorry." She curled her nose slightly at the dressage question. "Dressage is more of a means to an end." She replied. "I like the fact that it about getting my mount to work with me, using as subtle cues as possible, but that's what hunter jumping is all about too." She shrugged. "I do dressage because it helps with the jumping, getting the horse to flex and yield."
She rubbed Olé's neck. "It was lovely meeting you Amy, and I look forward to seeing you in class. I had better get this girl back to Dr Carr, before she thinks I've stolen her horse." She gave the younger girl a warm smile before she loosened the girth, dismounted, ran the stirrups up and led the pretty mare out of the arena. Sure, she could have ridden her back to the clinic, but this way she could make sure the mare was fully cooled down before she gave her a bath and dinner.

Amy smiled at her new friend's enthusiasm, although she stayed quiet as she listened to Cortney explaining the merits of jumping. She nodded as she heard Cortney's opinion of dressage, storing away the information, in case she ever needed to know anything about the discipline. It sounded like something worth trying, though, if not with Tommy, who worked well enough and was western through and through, perhaps some day, when she had another horse. Maybe they would try some of the simpler things in beginner English during the year, then she would have more information on what it was like.
As Cortney decided to bring her mount back, Amy glanced at her watch, surprised at how much time had passed. Smiling at Cortney, she replied, "It was nice meeting you too." She watched the girl and her horse head off southwards, which was presumably the direction of the equine clinic, before she too dismounted and loosened Tommy's cinch. She walked the blue roan out of the arena and then paused him to call Wolf and pick up the canine's leash, before the trio once again set off, in the opposite direction from the way Cortney had taken.
