Everyone wants happiness No one wants pain But you can't have a rainbow Without a little rain
It was time for lunch, but the sun that had been shining only that morning had disappeared, and now it was pouring. Amy slipped out of the classroom building and hurried towards the cafeteria, Wolf trotting at her side, knowing that her attempts were futile. Luckily, she had decided to leave her books and work in her locker, since she didn't need them today, with no homework or readings to complete.
As she entered the building, already looking like a drenched rat despite the short distance between buildings, she stood by the door for a bit, thinking that she should find an old rain coat and leave it in her locker, like she had done with Wolf's rain gear. She bent to remove the raincoat from the dog, making sure to stay out of the way of the door, then shook it out and put it into a plastic bag in her backpack.
Set, and not dripping as much anymore, Amy and Wolf made their way towards the line for lunch. Amy picked out a small sandwich and an orange juice, then made her way towards a table in the corner, sitting down with her back to the wall and Wolf laying by her side. She gave him some water from her bag, then set about eating, watching the rest of the student body trickling in.

Samie let out a low groan at the weather; rain, rain, and more rain. someone were to step out for even a couple seconds, they would be soaked from head to toe. Speaking of which, it was now lunch time and she would have to walk across campus to get to the cafeteria. She let out a curse under her breath as she contemplated whether take a chance and run through the rain to get the shortcut to the building, or just take a slight longer way which would get her around the rain. She decided the second option since she definitely wouldn't want to look like she just jumped in a pool and didn't have a towel to dry herself with. Also, it would mess up her hair and make it look all flat and lifeless.
She stayed close to any structure that provided some roof or shield from the rain as she eventually made it to the building with only a drizzle of rain on her head. 'Guess it would have been a better idea to have worn that jacket with an actual hood included with it.' She mocked herself in her head as she pulled her purple and black north face jacket closer to her, sadly one of those that didn't have a hood connected to it. She fixed her hair and shook off a droplet or two of water off that happened to find its way and made herself look presentable.
Making her way into the slightly crowded cafeteria and somehow found her way to the lunch line despite the many students shoving their way. Samie weaved herself through, ignoring the apologies from some who seemed to practically bump in to her and some who didn't even apologize for getting in her way because they were too busy socializing with a close friend. She just made herself push by, breaking up the pair to make a path for herself. How dare they think they could even have the courage to just brush it off, she didn't even care if they were in mid conversation. She let out a frustrated sigh and sent a few glares to some as she just quickly grabbed a water and an apple as she didn't feel all to hungry today.
Glancing around the cafeteria, she noticed that there were practically no more free tables or seats left in the room. From the corner of her eye, she saw a table in the corner with only one girl sitting there. She remembered that girl, the pathetic girl, from the wash rooms and her horribly cared for equine. Don't forget to mention that mutt she always has with her. She felt a smirk form at the corner of her mouth as she made her way over, her boots that had a slight heel built in hitting the floor with each step she took. "Well look who it is, the girl with that animal who had made such a 'messy' impression to be called as your horse." She spoke with a voice almost as cold as the rain that was pouring outside right now. Her eyes were making a secretive gleam of mischief, but gave a forced small smile to the girl to cover it up. "You wouldn't mind if I joined you, would you?" She slightly taunted as she took a seat across from her anyways, still keeping on that fake caring smile.

Amy ate slowly, enjoying her lunch, although she wished she had thought to pick up a hot tea or something instead of the cooled orange juice. She had just finished the first half of her sandwich when Wolf sat up, his eyes tracking a person approaching their table. Amy affirmed his action and rubbed his head, but let him keep sitting up as she looked at the girl that was coming towards them, apparently intending on joining them.
She suppressed a shiver as the girl spoke, feeling the ice behind the words as a physical cold. She didn't speak, rather turning her attention to the girl. She remembered the day at the wash racks well, although that wasn't a good thing. Yes, Tommy might have been filthy, but after all, that was why she had been at the wash racks in the first place, hadn't it? Otherwise, there would have been no call to go there.
As the girl asked about joining her, Amy bit the inside of her cheek and shook her head 'no'. No, she did mind, but of course, that wouldn't matter to the girl, who was already sitting anyway. As Amy ate, she dropped one hand down to Wolf's ruff, weaving her fingers into the dog's fur as she felt her heart pounding. Why had this girl singled her out, and why in the world was she sitting here? Yes, there were only few empty places around the cafeteria, but there were other seats, at other tables. Any other table would have done.

Samie sneaked a slight smirk towards the silent reactions she got in response. Although the girl didn't show it, she could tell that she was holding in any speech as she shook her head to her question about joining. Was it just her that this is actually quite entertaining for her? Maybe, but it was something about gaining authority over someone that gave her the slightest pleasure. 'Wow, I sound evil, but do I ever listen to myself?' Definitely just her. Though since the girl seemed already as innocent and weak enough, she'll give it easy to her, but not too easy.
She did her best to keep on her best fake caring smile towards the girl to add on to her act as she decided to start it easy. "We started off on the wrong foot, I'm the one and only Samie." She spoke with an almost 'duh' kind of tone. Who wouldn't know who she was? "Who must you be?" She asked with almost an uninterested tone. It wasn't like she was trying to befriend this girl; hopefully she got that impression in the first place. After all, she wasn't much of a people person, and by now, everyone should have gotten that idea. She even wondered if the girl would even speak if she was this quiet, but everyone knows that those who are quiet are the most vulnerable, so this should be fun and fun for Samie for the rest of the year.
As she glanced down to the mutt that was tracking her every move when she arrived, she wondered what pathetic sickness this girl must have like what happened to Sara. I mean really, why do they even let some of these people here? They'll just get all the attention and sympathy and then there will be none left for her. She almost gagged out lout at the mention of, well, her. If you knew what she meant, and she just mentioned her a few seconds ago. That was a mistake to even have her come through her mind once again. 'That prissy cheer captain.' She thought to herself. "So why do you have that... thing with you?" She asked, referring to the ball of fur beside her as she took a bite of her apple. Again, her snobby side came back, everyone knew, and even Samie knew, that her niceness wouldn't last very long. Actually it was a bit of a pain to keep going with the kindness. She wondered how people do it for so long.

Amy glanced up at the girl as she heard her... Well, not apologizing, but almost. Warily, she nodded as she heard the girl's name. Samie. She would have to remember that, just in case something worse came up. No, she probably wouldn't go to the teachers is something happened, since they were, well, them, and adults. She knew what was coming next, and yet, she waited for a heartbeat before she responded, her voice soft, "My name is Amelia." Maybe it was against her better judgement, but she would be able to weather it if it came to that.
She saw Samie's glance towards Wolf and bit her cheek as she waited for the inevitable question. However, as it was asked, she was able to find something to say that didn't reveal anything, "He's not a thing, he's a dog." She wished she was the kind of person to have a wittier retort, but then, she couldn't even open her mouth enough to say something like that, let alone think of it. Already, she felt her panic building, wondering if there was a way that she could get out of this situation, run away and hide, but she had promised her dad that she would try. So, try she did, sitting there, finishing her sandwich, even if she did chew a little bit faster than she had before.

Samie was enjoying the affect she was having on the girl. It was quite amusing that she had that affect on anyone and everyone that has crossed her path so far. Unless of course you were someone named or like Sara. (Again, gag.) "My name is Amelia." She heard her introduce herself in return. Well, more like just wanting to answer her question, practically making her say who she was. She couldn't really hide for much longer; eventually she would know who she was, one way or another. "Amelia," She slowly repeated, adding on to the slightly tensing atmosphere, with a slight nod of her head. "I'll call you Amy for short." She practically stated more likely than ask for permission. She forced another kind smile, this one seeming more convincing than others, but there was that secret glint of deviousness in her eye.
She watched out of the corner of her eye at Amelia's almost every movement. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes and make a dramatic effect. Of course he's a dog, although she could tell she was trying to avoid the point of her question. Here comes the fun part of pushing people to their limits, but she will give it easy to her, since she knows she will be seeing more of Amy around campus. "Of course, how silly of me." She responded in a fake tone as if she was sorry, which she actually was not. There was one side of her tone that was obvious it sounded like she didn't really care. She let a pause to give in before her eyes narrowed slightly. "So why do you have that dog with you?" She repeated the main part of the question as she patiently waited for an answer, if she will answer.
The senior wondered to herself why she was so obsessed with messing with this girl when she could practically have the same amount of enjoyment with whoever even passes by. It was probably because of Amy's innocence clearly showing that makes it so easy and especially fun to mess with. Maybe she was just a tad bit evil, but Samie just doesn't seem to notice it too much towards herself and that's where it has left her today. She left another smirk form behind her act in satisfaction as she took another bite of her apple and chewing slowly and watching the girl in front of her. She let her mischievous kick down a notch lower since this was their second meeting with each other, the third time is the real fun.

Amy shrugged slightly as she heard the girl mention her nickname, even if she hadn't offered it. It was an easy shortening, and while she didn't mind, she was glad that it was something that she was used to, rather than a strange nickname. For a moment, the girl seemed almost kind, but Amy knew better than to fall into that trap, since the girl had already shown her true colours.
And, there they were again, showing through despite the facade. She wouldn't have Wolf referred to as a 'thing' if she could help it, and she knew that, if she answered, she would give the girl even more fodder. As Samie rephrased her question to a slightly less objectable sentence, she considered not answering, but then, it would be easier just to go with it, although she wouldn't give the girl too much to work with, "He's medical alert." That was a lie by omission, if one wanted to get into it, since Wolf had various duties, not all of them alert, but then, that wasn't something she wanted to get into. She finished her sandwich, then wiped her fingers on the napkin that she had grabbed, removing the last traces of mustard before she grabbed her orange juice and took another drink.
