McKayla let out a shiver as it went down her spine and passed through the rest of her body. She sometimes found the weather odd to be changing so quickly. This morning the clouds were light and a few of the sun's rays shine through the thin puffs of white in the air, now it's completely pouring outside. She needed a break from her most recent busy week, and she didn't think being cooped up in her lonely dorm room was necessarily relaxing. She sometimes found it stuffy after a while. She grinned at nothing in particular as she noticed she arrived at the destination she was hoping to arrive to, the recreation center.
She thought it would be nice for a change to hang out around here instead of the common room at the Blue Ribbon first floor all the time. After all, she hasn't been here a while, so it's nice to take a visit once in a while. Taking off her black north face rain jacket, she shook out some of the many droplets of water on the jacket out so she wouldn't create a dripping path along the way. She also brushed off a few drops off of her white beanie and fixed it properly back on her head. Not really wanting to check it out for very long, she just went with the lounge area as her final choice.
She hung up her jacket as she entered and glanced around the room. She let out a quiet sigh of relief that the room seemed unoccupied. Part of her was glad it was, but another was feeling the slight lonely emptiness. She took light steps in her grey UGGS even if she was the only one there. She was surprised at the crackling fireplace in the corner and felt the warmness already overwhelming her as she passed by on her walkabout around the lounge. She stopped by the kitchenette that was also around the corner and might as well make herself something.
Sitting on one of the couches with a warm mug of hot chocolate, which she happened to just make, in her hands, she could feel the relaxation kicking in. She lifted the mug to her lips as the warm soothing liquid traveled down her throat and making her whole body feel the warmth. She actually felt at peace as she watched the bright flames of the fireplace and listened to the rain pattering against the windows outside. Besides the harsh weather at times, she enjoyed the fall and its sweater weathers and colorful reds, oranges, and yellows, in fact she was already dressed in an oversized black, grey, and white tri-colored sweater, pair of black leggings, her UGGS, and her favorite warm white beanie. It also feels like a mixture of winter at the same time. After all, December was approaching, and December means Christmas. McKayla let another random grin slightly show on the corners of her lips as she took another sip of the hot liquid and partially zone out in the calmness of the atmosphere.
