Turn away 'cause I need you more
Personality>> Elizabeth is a vibrant young girl who tends to be optimistic and outgoing. She likes to have fun as much as any kid, and can be counted on to be fearless in most situations. However if something doesn't seem like a good idea, she will often take a different approach to it. She's friendly towards everyone and enjoys being helpful/useful. She's also very independent, and hardly a pushover when she has her mind made up on something. She's got good street sense and loves going into cities. She fancies herself as being a mature young lady, and inspired by Lady Mary on Downton Abbey, prefers to ride sidesaddle whenever she can. She doesn't have any problem riding astride, she just doesn't think it's as fun, unique, or challenging. Her desire to be a lady is also why she likes to wear dresses and being as fashion forward as possible, but she isn't afraid of hard work or getting dirty, quite the contrary. However getting dirty and sweaty does come at a cost, her curly hair tangles very easily and she hates having to brush through the mess afterwards.
Likes>> Sidesaddle, Horses, Belfast, Dresses, Broadway (Annie is her favorite musical), Singing, Dancing, Chocolate, Disney, Downton Abbey, Titanic (History, not the movie), Tea, Cupcakes, American Girl dolls, Her Uncle Tommie
Dislikes>> When her curly hair gets frizzy/tangled, Mean or petty people, Being in trouble, Homework, Awards shows (The things she wants to win never do), having her Irish accent made fun of, her cousin living so far away
Fears>> Getting too homesick and being unable to ride sidesaddle at her new school
Hopes>> To be an actress someday and to help someone less fortunate than herself
Secrets>> Elizabeth has been in some restricted areas around the Titanic Quarter of Belfast, where her father works. On one particular excursion she and a friend went into the old abandoned Harland and Wolff design offices, and stole some old blueprints and tracings they found in there. She doesn't believe they are of any value, since the city and the museum had ransacked the building for important documents and artifacts, but she still stole them from a place she should have never entered and she feels slightly guilty about it.
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> Elizabeth has blue eyes and sometimes unruly curly hair. Her hair is very very dark brown, almost black looking depending on the lighting. She tends to wear dresses for school since she like to be fashionable, however she has plenty of barn clothes to get down and dirty in. She's on the short side at only 5 feet, but she's still growing and is certain she'll hit a growth spurt sooner or later. Because of her height, she also looks younger than 14, but she makes up for it with her maturity. She has faint freckles, which she's also determined to outgrow.
Markings>> Pierced ears
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>> Nothing extraordinary
Criminal History>> None
Full History>> Elizabeth was born and raised in Belfast Ireland, despite neither of her parents being from there. Her mother is an American from New York while her father hails from Surrey, England. Her parents tend to be busy, her mother constantly writing for equine magazines and novels while her father works long hours at the Titanic museum. However she is doted on by her Uncle Tommy. Uncle Tommy is not her uncle by blood, but is a close friend of her parents and has lived with them since before she was born. In fact, Elizabeth was named after his own daughter, who lives in Yorkshire England with his ex-wife Helen. Elizabeth writes to her cousin frequently, and the two are good friends. Uncle Tommy works at the Harland and Wolff shipyards as a designer, and while he works long hours as well he always makes time for her. As a little child he frequently babysat her, where he taught her how to ride and introduced her to some of her favorite shows on tv, like Cupcake Wars and Downton Abbey. He also spoiled her, buying her whatever she asked for on Christmas and watching far more ballet rehearsals and recitals than he'd care to admit.
When she was seven her little brother Joseph was born. She became incredibly jealous of the attention he was receiving, and decided to run away to live with her cousin. To many people's dismay, not only was Elizabeth clever enough to plan her daring escape, she actually carried it out and made it to Yorkshire successfully. Unfortunately, she made things incredibly complicated for her poor Uncle Tommy, who was sent with her father to retrieve her. Helen had called them to let them know their kid had shown up at her door, but assured them she was fine and that she would look after her until they came to take her home. Things between Thomas and Helen were complicated, unbeknownst to Elizabeth at the time. Uncle Tommy had served in the Royal Navy, and during a mission gone bad had been presumed dead. His wife and 2 year old daughter at the time had been incredibly distraught, but Helen eventually remarried and moved on. That was when Thomas actually turned up alive and well, and while Helen still loved him dearly, they decided it would be better if they remained apart. Elizabeth apologized to both Helen and Thomas afterwards, but deep down wasn't sorry for running away to meet her cousin who was just like her.
Back home, her Uncle Tommy has become incredibly overprotective and anxious. He does everything to make her happy, even though she is long over being jealous of Joseph. Elizabeth doesn't mind so much though, especially knowing how much he misses his real daughter. Uncle Tommy being a mother hen has always pushed her to do her very best at school, and has supported her and encouraged her in her riding. The only thing he does not support is her sidesaddle riding, for while he is proud of her wanting to be a proper young lady, he fears she will injure herself terribly.
Elizabeth has a loving relationship with the rest of her family. Her mother is the one who inspired her love for American Girl dolls, as well as musical theater. She performed as Annie in a Belfast community theater production of Annie, and she has loved the musical ever since. Her father is the one who inspired her love of Titanic and history, she loves accompanying him to work to visit the museum and explore. His job also added more fuel to her desire to be a proper lady like in Downton Abbey.
She read about Blue Ridge somewhere, and begged her family to send her. They were hesitant to send her at first, especially Uncle Tommy, but eventually they consented as long as she came home for the summer and for holidays. She is beyond excited to come to America, and to ride and meet all sorts of new friends and people.
