Staff or Student>> Student
House>> Red Ribbon
Gender>> Female
Sexuality>> Heterosexual
Face Claim>> Shelby Lyon
Personality>> When you raise a child in money, and they're trained from the beginning to behave, you get quite the prideful child. Liana likes to think herself better than all of the other children, even generally those that have gained the title of 'close acquaintance'. She doesn't really make friends easily, thanks to her father's many rambles about friends not being good business practice.
That leads to a very young businesswoman. Some would call Liana polished and refined in her manner, even at just fourteen, while those who are feeling uncharitable call her cold and stuck-up. It doesn't help that she'd extremely polite to adults, please sir, thank you ma'am, and can turn around and expect to be treated the same by the other children.
She's very opinionated in everything, forming an opinion on a pure second's worth of information. She's not one to push the information further into the gossip highway, but if something's being discussed, she'll be right there listening to what's being said and filing it away in case it might give her an advantage at a future time.
At least, the things she learned from her parents weren't all bad. Liana is very organized and practical. She learned how to organize and run all sorts of activities thanks to her mother's many hosted events, and tends to be a good leader, delegating and planning towards success.

Secrets>>
She's hiding from the media while at Blue Ridge, due to her father's status and his upcoming decisions.
Appearance>> Standing at 5'3", Liana isn't exactly tall, although she is technically only two inches off from the national average! However, her build and face allow her to be considered 'petite', and she doesn't let it bother her. Perhaps she'll grow another inch or two, wouldn't that be nice? Her skin is clear and her hair is brown, usually styled without a hair out of place. Her makeup is done to impress, always accentuating her brown eyes, which Liana tends to feel are boring otherwise. Her closet contains almost exclusively brand-name clothing, although she would never do something as low as letting herself be plastered with a company's name.
Markings>> Ears pierced once.
Medical History>> Sprained wrist, age 7
Criminal History>> Nope. She'd never had a chance.
Full History>> Sarah and Michael's trip to Jackson, Wyoming hadn't gone completely as they had planned. The very pregnant Mrs. Mars and her husband had flown out to Wyoming from Vermont for Sarah's father's funeral, knowing that they were only a week and a half away from the due date for their daughter. However, there was no way around it, for they were going to the funeral, and that was that, as Sarah had put it. After the funeral, they remained in Jackson with family for two days, to go over the basics of property and management, as well as meeting with the executor of the state to confirm an address for the will. It was during this exact meeting that things started to, well, start, for Mrs. Mars. The delivery was unremarkable, and after seven hours of labor, their daughter was finally out.
At only a few days old, Liana undertook her first cross-country flight. Of course, there was very little fear of germs, for why would the Marses fly in a commercial airline? No, of course not. Instead, it was little Liana's first experience in her father's jet, usually used to impress potential clients. Once back in Vermont, Liana was almost immediately handed off to a nanny, while her father returned to his business ventures, and her mother went back to her social circles.
And with a never-ending stream of nannies, Liana grew up. None particularly enjoyed working for her father, although there were always more applicants, considering the pay and benefits of working for Mr. Mars. Liana barely saw her family, apart from the ten minutes daily where her father allowed her to be brought into his office to listen to him drone on about business dealings.
Her first exposure to horses was very early on. Thoroughbred racing was always something that her father dabbled in, and when Liana was six, he planned to take her with him for the very first time. She not only got to watch the races, but afterwards, her clamoring for the 'ponies' was rewarded with a visit down to the winner's circle, hoisted into the air for the flashing cameras, and then set upon the Thoroughbred's back for the briefest of photo opportunities with her smiling father. After that, horses turned into an obsession, and one that couldn't be soothed by trinkets. But what daughter of Michael would ride at a public lesson barn? No, instead, the girl was sent to an old family friend, young and inexperienced as she was.
But the basics were not where she started. Liana wasn't introduced to a pitchfork, or even a grooming brush. No, she was introduced to an old broodmare who had thrown plenty of good runners, but was patient in her old age for a child on her back. And so, Liana started to ride, soon switching to the older geldings, and starting to set up small jumps. After realizing that this interest was probably sticking around, the girl was bought her first pony at the age of eight, an elegant Welsh pony (type B). They showed together for two years, before a growth spurt forced the girl to give up the gelding. Without many tears, as she was only riding the horse for practice and shows, Liana gave Punctual up again, and swapped instead to a smaller Thoroughbred, whom she would continue to ride until she outgrew him ability-wise.
At thirteen, she swapped the Thoroughbred out once more, but a new trainer stated that her free ride was over. Pitchfork in hand, Liana tried to escape the chores, but her father stood firm, agreeing with the trainer that the girl needed some reining in. Liana lasted about a week before she gave in, working her fingers to blisters for the first time in her life as she shoveled manure. True to his word, her father did indeed buy her a new horse, or rather, another pony, a Connemara that Liana at first refused to ride, but when persuaded, adored the moment she was in the saddle. This would be the pony, her father said, that she could take to boarding school, if she got admitted to the freshman class.
And then, her life got turned upside down. Some girl from Wyoming had apparently realized that her blood didn't match that of her parents... After a car accident, of all things. Of course, normally, this wouldn't have mattered in the slightest to Liana. But for some reason, her father had been called. He had been angry at first, not even coming out for dinner, but the next day, he came out of his office, a resolution made. They would be flying to Wyoming to meet this girl and her parents. Why... No one told Liana at that point.
The next morning, in their jet, Liana demanded an answer from her father. Exactly who was this girl, to get him to drop his work and everything and take his daughter and wife along on a trip to Wyoming, of all places? Michael explained that the girl, Jess, had been born on the same day, in the same hospital, as Liana had... And that they had been discharged at the same time. Faced with the information on the two girls, and the fact that something didn't match up, the hospital had informed Michael that there might have, years ago, been a mistake made. Of course, having money to throw around and an interest in keeping things as quiet as possible before anything was confirmed, Michael hadn't bothered with genetics tests or anything of the sort. No, instead, they were going to go see this girl and her family.
Upon arrival, they made their way to the middle of nowhere (okay, maybe it was just Moose), where the girl and her parents lived. The family wasn't surprised at the arrival of the Marses, although perhaps, certain expectations were broken. After all, in such a mixup, one would not expect to find a family from another state. After introductions, the girls were sent outside to 'get to know one another', although Liana took that to mean that she was to snoop around. Followed around by Jess, she explored the small farm, consisting of a couple of scruffy horses and an arena with barrels. Finally (her phone didn't even have service here!), Liana and Jess were called back inside, and the four parents sat down with the girls. They explained that, while it was a mixup that had happened, they had no intentions of switching back, although perhaps, they did want to get to know their biological daughters, respectively.
However, before that happened, there was to be a malpractice suit. Michael, in an attempt to protect both girls, suggested that Jess could put in an application to the same riding academy where Liana had gone, so perhaps, the girls would be able to get to know one another without being in the public eye. After all, he explained to Liana, Jess rode as well. Barrel racing, he called the thing.
And so, decisions made, wheels greased to get a quick acceptance, the two girls packed up their respective rooms, and then collected their things, before flying down to Kentucky for the start of their freshman year... And the start of their parents' combined battles against the hospital. Her father made the executive decision of which house she would be in, declaring that he didn't need his daughter 'even thinking about boys' while she was at boarding school.
Pet Name>> Raijin
Registered Name>> Froran Kaminari-Sama
Age>> 7 years
Gender>> Neutered Male
Species>> Feline
Breed>> Somali
Registry>> CFA
Personality>> Raijin is a very playful cat. He loves chasing toys, springing into the air after a spring or just running along the ground and pouncing. The laughter he brings only spurs him on, because he thrives on attention. He can be somewhat over-the-top in his affection, always pushing himself into things if he feels ignored. He is a lively fellow, almost always to be seen darting around and playing (if he's to be seen at all. He prefers to rest in private, generally in a corner under the bed.)
History>> Raijin was born to a Somali breeder, to two champions. He was the pick of the litter but was still neutered, as Michael's offer simply could not be denied (and there is no way Michael would put up with the caterwauling). Even when he was a kitten, Raijin tended to spend more time with Liana, as she was home more and enjoyed playing with him. So, when she was sent off to Blue Ridge, Liana begged, and of course, got permission to take the feline along.
Appearance>> Ruddy/'Usual' | 9 lbs
