Nicknames>>Drew, Battery
Age>> March 8, 1999; 16
Staff or Student>> Student
House>> Red House
Gender>> Male
Sexuality>> Asexual
Face Claim>> Logan Lerman
Personality>> Drew is one of those people who had to mature fast. Between the academic pressures of his father and constantly being ferried between formal events, Drew had to become adept at navigating the adult world. Around people his own age, he sticks out and can be completely out of touch with pop culture. He also has a learned distrust of people and is slow to open up about his past. In a bid to seem more normal, Drew tries to deny the fact that he has depression and feels only shame that he couldn't be the perfect child.
He's passionate about his hobbies and devotes a lot of energy into being the best. Tinkering and building brings out his best moods especially when he's accompanied by his pet bird. It's hard to make him shut up about his favorite subjects, and he has a hard time focusing on topics that have no interest to him. He's not known to argue and would rather work alone than in a group. His parents pushed him to only get the best grades and saw anything less than full marks a failure. Drew takes pride in the fact that he's a good student and never gave much thought to career options outside of electrical engineering. Looking for solutions outside of a formula was never one of his strong points.

He doesn't even own a pair of jeans. When appearances matter, he does make an effort to bring his bangs under control, but he hates how he looks with really short hair. Drew is fairly tall and still growing. His long legs and long arms are perfect for riding. He doesn't have an athletic build since riding is his only sport, and the rest of his hobbies are largely sedentary.

Full History>> From the moment he was born, Ashley had his life planned out for him. His father worked as an electrical engineer and expected his son to do the same. From an early age, the boy learned about electronics physics. His parents cared a great deal about his education and invested money in getting the best tutors to make sure he excelled at every subject. Being the only child of two older parents, Ashley was surrounded by adults and matured fast. What they didn't predict was the bullying their son would experience throughout his education in the public schools. The boy was quick to go only by his middle name and demanded that his parents only call him Drew in public. Thanks to his father, Drew has a strong love for tinkering whether it was wiring a shoebox house or designing his own projects. He learned the importance of art and knowing how to draw and frequently sketched out the model for projects before starting or drew in the margins of his schoolwork.
In third grade, his class was assigned to make replicas of the various landmarks around Lexington. Drew chose Keeneland and wanted to make the place sort of functional. With his father's help, he even hoped to recreate the 1996 Blue Grass Stakes. In class, he worked out the wiring for a string of tiny LEDs to highlight the grandstand and sales pavilion and was working with AA batteries. Unfortunately, one of his classmates figured out the correlation between Drew's first two initials and his passion for electronics. Initially called "Double A" turned into just "Battery" by fourth grade. The nickname followed Drew through eighth grade.
In the summer before starting high school, Drew worked on an ambitious project to make an operational fairground complete with a few rollercoasters. Miniatures, electronics, art, and horses kept his mind occupied and challenged. Despite attending a new school for high school, Drew's unusual interests and difficulty in making friends made him a prime target for bullies. Science Olympiad and Academic Decathlon were the only places where Drew felt confident in his abilities, but two extracurricular activities could hardly outweigh the hatred he felt towards the rest of high school. As a junior, he begged his parents to let him switch school districts entirely and start over. After much discussion, his parents agreed and let him pick out the school. Drew picked Blue Ridge because it offered a good riding program and was still close to home.
His riding career started when his parents made him attend a fundraiser event with a dressage performance as the main event. Afterwards, Drew got a chance to meet the horses and talk to the riders. One of them gave him the name of a trainer who was good with new students. Drew fell in love with the physics of riding, though later came to appreciate the beauty in it as an art. The school horses were all former show horses and were able to bring Drew up through the first level.
Pet Name>> Sininen
Age>> 3 years
Gender>> Male
Species>> Budgerigar
Personality>> Sininen is a docile and sociable budgie. He's perfectly calm riding around on Drew's shoulder or hand. The little bird is also quite chatty, though he rarely makes a loud racket. He's quite tame and knows how to step up onto a hand or finger from his cage, take rides without flying off, and doesn't react to horses. Sininen still requires lots of regular exercise and attention to avoid becoming bored.
History>> He was bred by Drew's mother and Drew's first bird he raised on his own. The budgie got the name Sininen for his blue coloring. Over time, the bird learned to trust Drew and was more interested in spending time with him than the other budgies. He learned several words and phrases including the species latin name, Melopsittacus undulatus. Sininen knows various math formulas and scientific laws due to Drew having to memorize them for school. From idle curiosity, Sininen accompanied Drew to the barn and was allowed to perch on his shoulder while he rode, though only at a walk.
