Theo kept himself in the know by being a loud and outgoing man. He has never had a problem with being the one to start a conversation when the awkward lull arises. Because he is not an extremely smart man, his sarcasm can be fairly dry and his conversations simple, but he gives it his all. All that is needed to keep him satisfied is a history lesson or a football game every now and then and his good mood shines through.
What makes his outgoing personality flawed is his gullibility and trusting nature. By seeing both sides of every situation, he exposes himself to those who wish to take advantage of him. Theo will shoot down many rumors, not only due to the false nature rumors, but to the fact that he attempts to see the good in everyone. Once the line is crossed though, he is very good at detaching himself from those who abuse his kindness.
His humble upbringing made him the kind of helpful man that he is. Helping those who can't help themselves has been one of the more important parts of his life ever since he was a young boy. For those who can help themselves and just won't, Theo is highly inclined to give a lecture or demonstration on how to take care of oneself. His lecturing is a minor annoyance that had been brought up on previous occasions but he still has a hard time holding himself back from such.

Theo has always been known for being a large man, standing at six foot five. His muscular body shows years of work out and training to be at his best. He's a towering figure truly, having broad shoulders and long legs. Even some features, like his ears and hands are recognized for their size. Normally, Theo wears simple shirts that keep his tattoo covered but let his arms breath. Tee shirts and loose sweatshirts usually do the trick while jeans are the only things he wears outside of the gym.
Depending on how he feels at the time, Theo's hair can vary from a short buzz cut to the newer 'brushed up' style. Recently, his hair has been cut short on the sides and back while the top grew long. When working Theo slicks his hair back with gel and casually he combs it out and lets the top stand up.

Theo was a scrappy kid when he was young, so he got several warnings from the cops but nothing official.

Theo came from a large, West Virginian, family who had just enough and gave everything. His mother was a nurse and his father a mechanic, making enough money to clothe and feed their kids but not much more. Tax returns and small family inheritances provided enough for the necessary upgrades on the house to keep it looking good. Whatever extra money the family had went to those who needed more. Theo and his siblings didn't get much in the line of entertainment and toys but a house in the country left them with plenty of backyard to accommodate. His home life had a strong impact on the person he became later in life.
Once familial status had become important to most of the students in junior high, Theo developed his concern for others. Despite being a bit of a jock, Theo wasn't one to take time out of his own day to undermine and berate others. When the kids that he spent most of his time with began bullying other boys who were less fortunate than himself, Theo would defend and aid whoever had fallen victim. His tolerance had grown less and less throughout his high school career.
His early high school years were when Theo learned just how capable he was of standing up for himself and others. Once he started growing into his tall frame, Theo felt more physically inclined to defend those who were being made fun of. Fights, which were a common occurrence at his school, had begun to center around Theo and the boys he used to call friends. If the victim wasn't very strong, he would challenge the bully to either leave the victim alone or to stand up for themselves. Theo spent a fair amount of his junior and senior years in short detentions. More often than not, school officials would just condemn him for fighting then praise him for standing up for others. This is when his confidence was built up.
After two years of a community college, Theo had obtained his Associates in Criminal Justice. The two years in college had brought out the lazy side of the young man. Often times he wouldn't even come home in the afternoon and if he did, he came home to throw his clothes on the floor, change, and then leave again. His attitude didn't change much once he had gone to the Police Academy either.
A tough, supposedly fun, fight in college left both Theo and his opponent battered and bruised. Theo had badly dislocated his shoulder in the fight and it had given him trouble, even after surgery. Once the damage had been dealt, Theo realized that he needed to control his fighting and only use it when absolutely necessary.
Once probation was finished, Theo fell into police duty easily. He took pride in his job, protecting any and everyone that he could. Unfortunately for him, that had proven to be his downfall. After three years on the police force and hard work, Theo had earned his place under the eyes of his chief. Many weekends were spent having dinner with the chief and his family until Theo began learning the truth.
His chief's wife, Stella, was a quiet woman, never speaking much while the men were having their barbecued dinners. She learned who her husband had around her, quickly revealing what kind of man Theo was. Stella would sometimes ask for help in the kitchen. Theo of course was the one to stand up first and help. She used her time in the kitchen to talk to the young officer, slowly wrapping her claws around his throat. False stories would come up about what a horrible man her husband was and how she couldn't wait to leave him but not being able to for the sake of the kids. Theo had begun to fall in love with the deceptive woman and not long after, the chief found out.
The chief didn't wait long before taking action against Theo and Stella. First off, Theo was slowly punished, landing the boring and dirty jobs at the station. Later on, after some slow torture he was fired from the department as he was one of the new guys and the office needed to make some budget cuts, including some of the new officers. Being the fair man that he was, the chief recommended that Theo leave the state before allegations were released. Even though it was blackmail, Theo did as suggested.
To stay close to his family, Theo moved only one state away to Kentucky and applied to a small police department. Wanting to correct his mistake at his former department, Theo offered to watch over a local riding academy. His hopes were that staying under the radar would keep his former chief content and quiet.

Khan certainly is not the smartest dog that had ever been a companion, but he is one of the sweetest dogs Theo had every met. He does what he is told, virtually whenever it is asked of him, though in more unconventional ways. Khan is the kind of dog who carries a stick that is twice his size and try to carry it through a doorway, clothes-lining himself. The dog never really grew out of his puppy stages, bounding around as if he still is trying to figure out how to run with giant paws. His abilities as a guard dog are extremely limited, mostly because he will just lick whoever comes near him and will only bark when the person is right in front of him.
History>>
Khan was a shelter pup, coming from a stray mother who was caught off of the streets. He spent just over eight weeks with his mother before the pups were all split up, getting adopted fairly quickly.
Theo found Khan at the shelter after some convincing from friends that he needed something to be responsible for. Before Khan Theo had never owned a dog because his father was allergic. The first two years provided a rough patch for the pair. Khan wasn't the easiest to train, particularly because he loved getting into things when Theo wasn't home and the entire apartment was his bathroom.
Once his terrible twos had passed, Khan ended up being the best friend that Theo could have asked for. They went everywhere together, even into stores as long as it was allowed.
