Ben Michael Ayers
<Played by Stern>
Full Name>> Ben Michael Ayers
Nicknames>> Ben
Date of Birth>> 7/30/02
Staff or Student>> Student
House>> Green Ribbon House
Gender>> Male
Sexuality>> Heterosexual
Face Claim>> Jacob Hopkins
Personality>> Ben is a very withdrawn, quiet guy. He prefers his own company, and the company of animals, over most people. He doesn't really tend to talk much, unless he feels its necessary for politeness' sake. He enjoys silence, and dislikes debates. He is rather set in his ways and it is hard to change his mind about something. If one were to attempt it, though, he would listen, then shrug and smile as he withdrew back into his shell to think about it. He enjoys classical music and movies, and has a large store of knowledge of random trivia. In his free time he loves making paracord stuff, including for his horse to wear during trail classes and out trail riding. His room tends to be full of spools of the stuff, and occasionally he sells some of his work to get some extra pocket money.
Likes>>
Paracord creations
Show jumping
Trail (riding and competitions)
Harry Potter
Eragon
Dislikes>>
Wooly donkeys - They're just so shaggy. He's also not a fan of winter coats on his horse.
Clipping his horse (so much loose fur!)
Dogs (all of them)
Being photographed
Springtime - He has allergies
Fears>>
Small dogs, especially in groups
Falling on cross country - There's a reason he doesn't do much of it!
Hopes>>
To follow in his mom's show jumping successes.
To someday raise a foal from baby to successful show horse.
Secrets>> He once as a young child cut patches out of his mom's donkey's coats, just because. She never found out he did it.
Appearance>> Much to his dismay, Ben hasn't hit his growth spurt yet, and stands at 5'2" right now. Once he finishes growing, he should stand about 5'10", if not taller, and he can't wait for it! His brown hair is often styled with gel, unless he's planning on riding (getting gel out of a helmet sucks, he has discovered multiple times). His eyes are hazel, always curious and looking at everything. A simple, but neat style suits this boy just fine - Anything that doesn't require too much work, and smells relatively clean! Hoodies are pretty common for all but the hottest months, too.
Markings>> Small assortment of scars on left leg from dog attack.
Medical History>> Treated for bite by chihuahua at age 8, otherwise normal kid stuff. Spring pollen allergies.
Full History>> Ben was born soon after the death of his father. Luckily, his father's family supported his mother and her son, and so, Ben grew up wanting for nothing. He had babysitters most of the time, but he occasionally accompanied his mom to the stable where she worked, from birth on.
When he was old enough to ride, Gwen made arrangements for him to begin lessons, and Ben started jumping young. He was drawn to the discipline because it was fun, but kept with it and flourished under a lot of encouragement. When he started showing continuing interest, his grandparents bought him his first pony to start showing on.
As Ben grew, so did the horses, in size and in intensity. Any attempts to get him to branch out faltered, although he did deign to practice cross country regularly. He also started taking an interest in trail competitions, which his grandparents and mother did not support so much. They saw it as a fun pastime, but not a formal discipline.
Things came to a head during freshman year. Ben had always endured the jibes about his family situation, but in freshman year they just wouldn't stop. When her son came home every afternoon upset from school, Gwen started looking for other opportunities. There she found Blue Ridge, and applied to a barn manager position. After that, she convinced Ben to apply as well, which he gladly did. So here he is.
