Bad days come and go for everyone. Everyone handles them differently. Everyone feels things differently. Sawyer definitely did. It was almost like she felt all of her emotions at once. She couldn't remember if she had taken her medication, or if she hadn't. The way she was feeling suggested she had forgot. She kicked herself, and bit her lip, trying to hold back tears. She knew her brain was lying to her, but the depression was hard to kick. She wasn't suicidal. She hadn't gotten that far. But she felt like she shouldn't exist. Like she didn't belong. Like she would never feel okay ever again. She felt like she had failed at life. She just wanted to not be here.
She walked down to the lounge, and sunk herself into the couch as if she was trying to disappear. She wanted to be around people, but at the same time, she didn't. She needed to go to the nurse's office to get her meds, but she didn't want to. Sawyer grabbed a book from her bag and began to read, trying to drown out all of the emotions she was feeling. [/ul]

Tara did not have bad days. She had good days, better days and downright awesome days. A key part of her psyche was a firm refusal to even consider the possibility that she might be less than perfect- and if she was perfect, then how could she possibly have a less than perfect day? Life didn't work like that, so far as the blonde was concerned, and so there was a spring in her step and her lips were curved up into a winning smile as she made her way into the den, pausing briefly as she registered the presence of another girl- and a pretty one, at that. Momentarily, the blonde's smile became a little more predatory, before morphing somewhat spookily back into one of perfect innocence.
"Hey, gorgeous." Tara had never been one for subtlety in affairs of the heart... although love seldom played a major part in her little dramas. "Do you mind if I sit here?" She was aware that the girl was reading. That had no effect on her whatsoever.

Sawyer's bad days could get worse than they were today. At least she was out of her room today. She usually tried to force herself into doing something, anyhow. At least getting away from her bed. Her meds would be helpful at this point, and she had her anti-anxiety med on her, but she wasn't feeling anxious. That wouldn't do her any good. And it would take a bit for her anti-depressant to kick in. She wondered if the nurse would call her for missing her meds this morning. Sawyer was sure she'd get some sort of hell for it.
Sawyer looked up as another girl headed towards her. "Hey yourself," she said, trying to be perky, but failing. "Of course," she said. She sat up a bit, making room for the other girl. She thought she recognized her from at least one of her classes, but wasn't sure of the girl's name. "I'm Sawyer," she offered.

Tara's smile widened a little as the girl made no active attempt to ward off her flirty overtures, and she took the seat offered, sitting perhaps just a little closer to the other girl than might be considered to be normal. Resting one hand as casually as she could contrive on the other girl's leg, she turned her head to face the brunette, gave her a wink so slight as to be almost unnoticeable and carefully tucked a strand of blonde hair back behind her ear.
"That's a nice name." she pronounced with a brilliant smile. "Very pretty, kinda like you." Hey, the cliches were cliches for a reason- because they worked. "I'm Tara. So, I guess you haven't been here all that long?" There wasn't much guessing about it; Tara knew everyone, and it amazed her that this particular stunner had managed to elude her attention for even a week or so; there was no way she'd managed it for more than a month, absolute tops.

Sawyer raised her eyebrow at the girl as she sat a little close, and rested her hand on her leg, but Sawyer made no attempt to move it. In fact, she was kind of enjoying the attention. She wasn't interested in girls, but the attention was nice when she was feeling down. Her mood was starting to feed off of the girls positivity, but she wasn't quite there.
"Well, thank you," she said, smiling softly. She wasn't quite sure how to take compliments, especially from girls. Not that a lot of girls complimented her. "I've been here for about a month now," she said. "I take it you've been here awhile?" she asked. She hadn't seen the girl around, but it was possible they were in some classes together and she hadn't noticed. There were enough people around to miss someone.

Tara noted the brunette's raised eyebrow and raised her own in return, a smile still on her face. The implication was very clear: What are you going to do about it? The answer, she suspected, or at least hoped, would be nothing. The blonde was not at all accustomed to being rejected. It was not something which often happened to her, and she was fully intending to maintain that statistic.
"No need to thank me for telling the truth." she responded softly, a teasing smile on her lips. "Good for the soul, right? Yeah, I've been here about a year... And I really cannot believe that someone as stunning as you has escaped my attention for a whole month." The girl ran a hand through her own locks, and then, slowly, reached out to brush a stray hair from the brunette's cheek.

Sawyer smiled at the girl, and decided she was no harm. She set her hand on top of the girl's hand, leaving her to do what she wanted with it. Girls weren't who Sawyer was attracted to. She was straight, but curious. It never hurt to see what happened, right? Her bipolar disorder was confusing. It wasn't always highs and lows. Sometimes, her moods were combined. She could be depressed, but still be as reckless and impulsive as if she were on a high. She tended to do things she wouldn't normally do.
Sawyer blinked as the girl touched her face, but didn't move away from the gesture. "Oh?" she asked, teasingly. "Do you normally try to meet everyone before a month?" She smiled softly at the girl, her hand still on top of the girls.

Tara returned the girl's smile and intertwined her fingers with Sawyer's as the brunette placed her fingers on top of the blonde's. To be honest, her first and most overriding instinct was to kiss the girl long and hard, but somehow she doubted that that would go down too well, and whilst Tara was more or less shameless, she had little desire to end up being slapped.
She honestly didn't care too much whether the person she was snogging happened to be male or female. So long as they were good-looking, that was all that mattered to the blonde, and she decided that Sawyer most definitely met that criteria. The New York girl gave her newfound friend a wink. "Only the pretty ones." she responded softly to the question.

Sawyer felt the tension between her and the other girl, but she wasn't sure what to think of it. This wasn't her normal thing to do, and she knew it. But she also couldn't help herself. She was feeling attracted, for some reason or another, to the other girl. It was a strange feeling for her. And as the girl intertwined her fingers with hers, Sawyer squeezed the girl's hand. She was confused, but intrigued at the same time. "You're just being kind," Sawyer said, bashfully. She didn't think of herself as unattractive - she knew she had some sort of decent looks. But she also wasn't used to these compliments.

Tara giggled melodically. "Honey, when you've been here a while, you will realise that I am never kind." she returned, and every word of it was true. Sometimes she was nice to people, admittedly, but only when there was something in it for her, and right now, there was very definitely something in it for her because this girl was hot, although not, of course, anything like as hot as Tara herself, and that was just how the blonde liked things to be. Fun, not damaging her reputation and no competition. "Sooo." The girl allowed her hand to drift around the girl's shoulders. "Where do they make hot girls like you, hmm?"
