Laura Nicole Gentry
<Played by Weasel>
Full Name>> Laura Nicole Gentry
Nicknames>> None
Date of Birth>> 05/22/1988
Staff or Student>> Staff Western Riding Instructor
House>> Brown Ribbon Apartments
Gender>> Female
Sexuality>> Heterosexual
Face Claim>> Amber Marshall
Personality>> Her friends will tell you that she's smart, loyal, and confident. These things are probably true; she was a straight-A student in high school and college, she defends her friends even if they're in the wrong, and she is the first one to speak her mind when something needs to be said.
Someone who doesn't like her will tell you that she's petty, selfish, and manipulative. This could also be true. After all, she's been known to overreact when she feels wronged. She also looks after herself over others in most cases. And she can sweet talk her way in and out of things if she tries hard enough.
Her favorite things are her animals. The way to keep on her good side is to treat her with respect. If you're nice, she'll be nicer. If you're mean, she'll be worse. In most cases, of course.
Likes>> Oranges, old western movies, musicals, animals, books, singing, cooking
Dislikes>> Eating at restaurants, ketchup, going out, small children, arguing, coffee, seafood
Fears>> Abandonment, Failure, Loneliness
Hopes>> To be a better parent than her mother, to get back into competitive riding
Secrets>> She stole some money from her job at the supermarket a few years ago to help her father pay some bills. She managed to stay out of trouble by putting the blame on one of her coworkers, who already had a bad reputation.
Appearance>> She is of average height, with a small build and a fair skin tone. Yes, she is quite thin and generally just on the small side. Her long blonde hair is naturally straight, but sometimes she likes to curl it if she has the time. She has large blue eyes and a wide, bright smile. She's just starting to develop the first few age lines - or maybe they're just laugh lines.
As for fashion sense, she prefers to wear fitted but comfortable clothes. When she rides or on sunny days, she wears one of her hats to keep the sun and her hair out of her face.
Markings>> Pierced ears
Medical History>> Mildly allergic to carmine, or natural 4 red dye food coloring. Otherwise, average childhood ailments.
Full History>> She was born in Montana on her father's tiny ranch. When she was four, her mother left. Unfortunately, that became her first memory. She never found out why her mother left; her father still won't talk about it to this day. He raised her on his own from that point on. Naturally, she became a total daddy's girl. By the age of seven, she was riding the ranch with him on a horse that was far too big. By the time she was ten, she was competing in Western pleasure. At fourteen she took up Western trail and halter.
She got her first real job at sixteen, working at a riding school. She didn't like the very loud little kids but learned to grin and bear it. The horses made up for it completely. There, she learned a bit of English riding and patience with children and difficult horses alike, but outside of work she found she still didn't care much for small children. Time went on and she was very content with that job until she reached the age of twenty. She'd been going to college for two years by that time, pursuing a degree in equestrian studies. Her job at the riding school wasn't paying the bills; her father was helping her but she longed for independence. She picked up a very boring job at a local supermarket. It paid better but the hours were awful and she simply wasn't happy.
After finishing college and receiving her degree, she began looking for a better job, hopefully, one that involved horses. There wasn't much in Montana; not many places needed the extra help. She kept her job at the supermarket until she found the opening at Blue Ridge. The rest, as they say, is history.
Pet Name>> Hawkeye
Registered Name>>
Age>> Four years
Sex>> Neutered Male
Species>> Canine
Breed>> Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog
Registry>>
Personality>> Starting at the three-week mark, he was carefully socialized. Despite this, he's still a little insecure around new people. He has never shown any aggression toward people or other dogs. So far he's used to horses but doesn't like most other animals. He does like to fling his toys across the room and chase them down and he often feels the need to run full speed around the yard or house or apartment until he's worn out. He has a few problems like compulsive licking and begging for table scraps, even though he's never been fed human food by Laura. His favorite toy is the tug floss rope and his favorite treats are anything beef flavored.
History>> Hawkeye was born on the street despite being a well-bred pup; his mother was temporarily homeless following a house fire. For the first three weeks, he and his little family were homeless before his mother's owner found them. Afterward, all the pups were well-socialized until they were old enough to be adopted. Laura heard about the puppies for adoption and fell in love with Hawkeye as soon as she saw him. They've been together ever since.
