Blue Ridge is a fictional town located deep in the heart of Kentucky. It is home to one of the most well known equestrian academies in the United States. Students and staff from all over the world join the academy for what it has to offer. Do you have what it takes to join us and learn from the Academy?

Serulis warmed up at the start line, it was late afternoon, the only free time he had to think about why he was here and everything he could and is learning. He had finished his warm up and was heading for the start line, he just wanted to do a couple 100m sprints and then maybe do a 800m jog or run. He looked out over the field, amazed by what he could see. He started jogging on the spot and doing some high knees, he was serious about his cardio anyone that knew him would tell you that. As he made for the start of the 100m sprints he planned on doing, he was interrupted by a call. He answered it and shouted down the line "Leave me alone, I don't care! I have everything I need in my life and you're just a mistake! It's just a mistake. Bye." With that he flung his phone into hus gym bag, carelessly left on the side of the track and started. He set a stopwatch and sprinted once. Stopping it at the line. He looked at the time, shook his head. Reset and ran again. It had improved this time around.
He found himself laying on the floor staring at the sky, Serulis didn't have time to do this. Thoughts were rushing through his head and he didn't want to think about anything. He shut his eyes and cleared his head, his arms reaching up and then crossed, he used them as a headrest. He laid there for what seemed like hours, but was only minutes.

Kitty was not a runner. She had neither the speed nor the stamina necessary for such a pursuit and in any case, it held absolutely no interest for her. It should have been obvious that her primary choice so far as exercise was concerned was, of course, riding. If that was unavailable then, as much as the prospect might have amused those who knew the clumsy Irish girl well, she liked to try dance, though she had rather more recently substituted cheerleading into that particular role. Despite not having had any experience of that particular activity prior to coming here, she felt that she'd taken to it quite well, and she certainly enjoyed it.
But there was no rule that the field was only for the use of runners and today, Kitty was out for a walk, enjoying what might well be the last of the warm autumn sunlight for this year. After all, October was here, and it could only be a matter of time before the nights drew in and the temperatures dropped. She might as well take advantage while she could, and that was why the blonde was to be found ambling unhurriedly around the track on that particular afternoon. Her progress was steady in any case, but it slowed further and ground to a halt as she drew closer to a shape on the ground. For a moment, she thought that whoever it was had passed out, but then her eyes adjusted, and she worked out that the pose had been purposely adopted. But Kitty had never been one to let someone else's need for solitude prevent her from socialising, and so she greeted the boy brightly with a cheery, "Hi there!"

When he heard the girl, he sat up flipped around and looked up at the girl that had just frightened the life out of him. His hand on his heart as it raced, he managed to get his bearings before saying in a cheerful tone "Hey there, what is a pretty little miss like you doing iut here alone?" he smiled at her, the sort of smile that could come across as cocky or arrogant.
Serulis was starting to stand up when his phone went off again, he rolled his eyes and ignored it. He was fully up and facing the girl now. Not knowing what to say, or what to do. He looked from her to the floor awkwardly before speaking up again. "So... You run here often?" Serulis was awkward, he'd never had to stand in front of a girl on his own before. Not without his horse or another guy about, he wasn't auite sure how to hold himself. He acted as if he was confident trying to be more manly than he actually is.

Kitty blinked, rendered temporarily speechless in surprise, which was a great and unusual feat indeed. In all honesty, she was not used in the slightest to being called pretty, and certainly not by strangers and apparently at random. It was, in fact, an entirely new experience for her, and she hadn't the faintest idea as to how she ought to respond, particularly considering the fact that she made a habit of being out alone, as did most of the Academy's female population. All in all, she elected to ignore the question, although the pink tinge which rose rapidly to her cheeks told its own story.
"No, I don't run," she corrected him with a grin, running a hand through her perpetually wayward hair. "Too much like hard work! I'm just out for a walk. And we haven't met! I'm Katherine, but everyone calls me Kitty- it's so great to meet you!"

Serulis laughed slightly, he felt less awkward and more like himself after a coulple of minutes. He then smiled as she introduced herself, he listened thinking to himself kitty as a nickname? That's quite dope. He spoke again more confident this time "Hey katherine, im serulis but please call me li as it's much easier to say." He noticed her comment abouy running, he wandered why she was here if she didn't like to run. Serulis was looking around now, feeling more cheerful his body language said he was relaxed and ready to do something, like walk or run or just mess around. But he wanted to do something.
He flicked his hair, that was normal of him. His eyes gleamed as he smiled again. He started to talk again, this time he sounded quite interested. "You normally walk around here? It is quite relaxing to be fair." Serulis changed his stance, still looking at thr girl. "Would you like to walk? Or was that to forward? I don't know." He laughed slightly, feeling a little bit embarrassed.

"But that's boring!" Kitty protested with a grin, rolling the name around the inside of her head as she subtly attempted to get her tongue around it. It wasn't going to happen any time soon, but that was all good; Kitty had never been one for the easy life, and while she wasn't the most patient of individuals, she was certainly possessed of a great deal of determination, which could sometimes serve the same purpose. She would get there in the end. "Who'd want an easy life? Where's the fun in that?"
She nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah; it's really nice, and there are always people to talk to." Which was, for Kitty, the most important thing! "People sometimes walk their dogs around here, which is cool..." A faint flush spread across the Irish girl's pale skin at the boy's question, and it took a moment or so before she nodded.

Serulis smiled, he liked this one. She seemed friendly and he was looking for someone nice and chatty to befriend, since anyone else he's met hasn't been so accepting of his manorism's. He shrugged at her questions, thinking about them. Before speaking up. "Well, I sure wouldn't mind an easy life" He didn't know how to answer the next question. Because it was true... "Yea, I guess you're right. Maybe I wouldn't like an easy life after all!"
He nodded looking around them, he had to agree about the looking nice bit. But people wasn't his strong suit, he preferred to stay to himself unless he wanted to have fun or annoy someone. "I don't really do people, but I guess that can change. I'm more of a fan of my own company." He listened to her, dogs? People walked dogs here. He hoped they picked up after them. "Yea that sounds cool, I'm a fan of dogs. Do you have a favourite breed? He nodded at the girls reaction and started to walk slowly taking in the dresh air and the sun on his face.
