Personality>> Prince is not for a beginner rider. He loves to go, and with the slightest movement or shift of leg will canter. He doesn't always stop or come down easily, unless your seat is good. He gets strong and can't always be brought down easily, especially if he's excited. His temper matches his rider's, so if his rider is excited Prince is. He loves kids, and will do whatever his rider asks. He'll give 110 percent on whatever he does, without complaint. He does anticipate though, which leads to frustration or he thinks he knows what he's going to be asked.
Caution Around>> Spurs or whips, strong, anticipates, treats (he loves them and may accidentally nip you in his excitement of getting them)
Basic History>> Prince was born and raised at a breeding farm. He stayed there until he was 10, and was broke and used as a riding horse for the owner's young daughter. The farm owner had a very expensive medical bill that had yet to be paid off. Unfortunately, this meant that Prince and most of the broodmare's had to be put up for sale in order to pay medical bills. He was bought by a teenager who had wanted a Morgan and thought he was perfect. Until she got Prince home, that was. The gelding was hot, and the slightest movement and he was cantering or jigging or prancing. It got the point that the girl was scared of the gelding, afraid of the way he picked up on her frustration which made the gelding act up even more, and thus made the girl more nervous.
She held onto Prince for a year, trying different trainers although none worked. All the dressage trainers told her to use a whip and spurs, which she did, and it was worse than before.
College came, and the girl decided to sell Prince. The problem was, no one wanted him. He was hot, took off at the briefest touch of leg or seat movement, and the girl said he was a "fire breathing dragon!" to anyone who looked at him.
