Full History>> Born just outside the city of Versailles, Anastasie was the only child of Austin and Mercy Chevalier. Since both of her parents worked hard, Austin as a doctor and Mercy as a real estate agent, their daughter was raised by the household staff. Although she didn't often see her parents throughout the day and lived so far out of town that she didn't have any close neighbours to befriend other children, she grew up to be a very well-rounded child. She was home-schooled by a number of tutors who came in and taught her all she wanted to learn - as well as all the things she needed to learn.

As she got older, she began to discover the world of horses, and to make up for the fact that they were away so often, Austin and Mercy bought their child a long string of mounts.

Once she had finished her "schooling" Anastasie wanted to see the world, and with her parents consent boarded a plane that took her to the States. It was here that she applied for a job at a riding barn as a barn hand. This is also where she learned the horrors of what other people could do to their horses.

Enter Cedar. The large Standardbred gelding was so abused - not so much psychically, but mentally and verbally - that he had taken up the fight instinct and he began to throw everyone who got on his back. The owner of the barn was at his wit's end. He had called in a number of trainers to try and get the bad habits beaten out of the horse, but all it did was made him dig his hooves in deeper.

Anastasie asked if she could work with the gelding, not wanting any form of payment just the assurance that she could have a year before the horse was sent away. The owner reluctantly agreed, not too happy about having a horse at his barn that wasn't paying his keep.

The young woman's love of books came in handy now, and she read everything and anything that was on hand and slowly worked out a plan of how she wanted to work with the horse. Since he seemed to hate being ridden so much, she decided that she would start with ground work.

Six months later, she saw an advertisment for a job at an Academy in Kentucky for a teacher, and thought her self-taught knowledge in herbal remedies and natural horsemanship might work in her advantage, she thought she'd try. Upon getting accepted, she asked if she could take the gelding with her...
