Personality>> Sara’s problems haven’t gotten her down, at least not outwardly. She hides any doubts or fears deep inside, where sometimes even she forgets them. Having Cinder with her is a big comfort to her, her one true friend. She is very competitive, but not above pulling out of a race if her horse is sick. She finds it hard to trust people with her problems and secrets, and usually doesn’t. She tends to have trouble sleeping, and spends a lot of time sitting up, reading or studying. Since joining the cheer team, and stepping up to captaincy, Sara has grown even more confident, and if she is attacked verbally, will join right back in.
Likes>> Cheer, dogs, riding, horses, backpacking
Dislikes>> Being taunted because of Cinder, being asked too many questions about herself, wind, the ocean, being offered food
Fears>> Anaphylaxis, her animals getting hurt
Hopes>> Get well known for reining, get into teaching
Secrets>> She never sleeps well.
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> Sara’s face is mostly round except for her chin, which is angular. Her nose is larger than normal, but straight. Her mouth is often flat, with light lips, but when she smiles, she reveals straight, white teeth. Her eyebrows are dark enough without makeup. Bright, warm brown eyes look out from underneath the eyebrows. Dark blonde hair falls in waves about halfway down Sara’s back, and is usually open, or tied back while riding. Sara stands at about 5’10”, and is muscular, without seeming to be so. She usually wears dark pants, light shirts, and a darker, baggy sweatshirt. The clothes are often covered in white or red hairs, courtesy of Cinder. Sara usually has a backpack to carry around with her. In this backpack, she keeps various emergency items, along with a bit of Cinder's gear.

Full History>> Sara was born and raised in Northern California, Mi Wuk, to be exact. She grew up backpacking in the Emmigrant Wilderness with her parents. For all of her life, she had skin troubles, and random stomachaches. When she was nine, the doctors finally found out why. She was diagnosed with Celliac’s. From one day to the next, her diet completely changed. No more bread, no more snacks. Eating was now a hassle, and at new places, even more so. However, there was plenty of backpacker’s food that was ‘GF’, so she was allowed to continue backpacking.
After a year of GF foods, Sara forgot all of the problems she had had from her eating gluten the last few years, and ate a piece of cake over at a friend’s house. No big deal, right? Well, yes, it was. The year of no gluten had done her system a lot of good, and the sudden intake of wheat messed it up completely. She ended up going into anaphylaxis and being rushed to the hospital. Once there, she was tested for a wheat allergy, as Celiac's can't cause anaphylaxis. It was found that she had both issues, giving her a double problem with eating wheat. After she got out of the hospital, with many rounds of scolding and lots of tears, her parents decided the best thing would be a service dog.
Thus, Nunya came into Sara’s life. The dog was brought from a far North breeder, specially trained to make sure that the girl didn’t come into contact with anything that contained gluten. Nunya went everywhere with Sara, and the two were soon good friends. Nunya might scare away would-be friends, but Sara was alright with that. She had the best dog in the world, who needed people friends?
At age eleven, Sara finally entered that stage that most girls went through, where they want to ride, and spend time with horses. Her parents supported her in riding lessons, and she was allowed to take them to her heart’s content. There was a small, family-owned barn a few blocks down from their house, and Sara walked up there almost every day. She fell in love with a dappled grey mare called ‘Trianna’. For her thirteenth birthday, Sara received Trianna’s foal, a dapple who would come to be called Balian. Of course, he was trained by the owners of the barn, but Sara went down to visit him every day.
When she finally graduated from eighth grade, Sara applied to get into Blue Ridge Academy. Sadly, she applied too late, and got put onto the waiting list. She waited, and waited, getting better at western riding as she did so. Finally, just in time for her junior year, she got accepted into the prestigious school.
During the summer before her Senior year, Nunya was retired due to age. Sara spent the summer bonding with her replacement, a young dog called Cinder. Since then, Cinder has bonded with Sara almost as well as Nunya had before him, and has calmed down to be a wonderful partner in his turn.
We found love in a hopeless place
Call Name>> Cinder
Registered Name>> Cinder of Hudson Bay, CGC
Age>> 2 years
Species>> Canine
Breed>> Malamute
Registry>> USSDR; AKC; CKC; CRTASA; CGC
Personality>> Cinder is a very happy-go-lucky pup. He forms bonds quickly and doesn't like being left alone. When left alone for a long time, he'll whine and find a way to get free and be with his 'human'. Although he loves people, he tends to connect with only one person an a time and will listen to that person above all others. He is very sensitive to changes and has very visible tells.
History>> Cinder was born in Manitoba, at a breeder located near Hudson Bay. He was given to the Agency to begin training at eight weeks of age, and was given to a young couple to be raised. This young couple took him everywhere, including to the zoo and the stables. At one year of age, he was shipped back to the Agency and his formal advanced training began. When he had passed the advanced training, he was brought out for Sara to test out, because she was experienced with Service Dogs already and used to the breed. He's been with her ever since.
