Samie stood at Hex's stall, running her hand through his strong neck. So far life here in Blue Ridge was great with kind people and correct necessities to take good care of Hex and make them both feel at home. The gelding gave a kind of bored whinny as the seventeen year old kind of drifted off into her own thoughts about her lifestyle for another year here at the Academy. She gave a grin, knowing what he was thinking. "Tired of the same old cramped stall, Hex?" The stalls were actually fairly big, just enough for a horse to sleep and walk around. Although she knows that her horse wants a more open field and wants to feel the great outdoors. She glanced out the barn entrance and spotted how there was still an evening light. It wasn't too late to head out in the pastures right now. The gelding bobbed his head and gave another eager whinny to head out. The girl ran and hand through the dappled grey's coat and cooed softly in response to calm down. "Calm down, boy. Alright, we can go for just a few." The gelding perked his ears at her soothing voice and Samie may not know the 'horse's language', but she knows the horse is saying a yes.
Slipping on the halter through the gelding's head and clipping on the matching lead rope, she unlatched the stall and lead the horse out. She thought it might be better to groom the horse after their time in the pastures. After all, she knows the gelding will be rolling around and getting more dirt that way and it would be a waste. Also, Samie already groomed him after their recent practice today, and most of the time Hex was in his stall. Leading him out of the barn and towards the path to the pastures. She noticed the sun about to set beyond the horizon as the tips of the rays were about to hit that imaginary line. She already promised the gelding to take him to the pastures and she knows he would be happy with even just a few minutes to be out here. A promise was a promise, after all, but she knows the horse would have at least a decent amount of time to enjoy in the sweet outdoors of the River Wide pastures.
The girl brushed the ends of her slightly curled brown hair back behind her shoulder as the pastures came to view. She looked around and say how no horse has occupied the first pasture yet. She saw the gelding's ears perk up as she started to open the gate to the pasture and let him in. As soon as she unclipped the lead rope to let the horse go, Hex already instantly shot through across the field. Samie rolled her eyes at the horse's antics. "Oh, Hex, you hyper little gelding." She muttered softly to herself as she closed the gate behind her and leaned on the fence to watch all the happenings. The girl thought about how she has enjoyed BRRA, and might enjoy it a little more now that she heard that prissy Sara is gone. She might actually have a better chance at being the actual queen bee around here. Although she will miss teasing and, ok she admits, torturing her reputation. It's harder than it looks to make friends now that her snob personality has become a habit. Although she wonders how she made it work with her roomate. Life is a mystery with Samantha DeVere.
