Audrey sat her desk that was little toward the front of the room. She wasn't very smart, but she worked hard and did her best to get all A's like her parents wanted her to. She looked over toward the other people who was in the room, but then looked toward the teacher. She wasn't scared or nothing, but being in such a huge class was exciting. She took the handout that was given to her and began reading over it. She could easily do the artist part of the book report, but making a song and cd cover was going to be quite hard. She listened to music, but other than that she stayed away from the whole idea of making music and writing lyrics. She looked down at the paper and sighed little as she twirled the braid in her fingers that was around her head. She smiled at couple people, but other than that she was quite as class had started. She looked up to Mr. Stone and smiled little wondering what book they was going to read.
Brown eyes swept through the class as she pulled her notebook out and looked around. She actual couldn't wait until she could get her hands on a horse. She was pretty much chopping at the bit to get out to the barn and final get to ride her horse or even meet the Vaulting instructor would be better. She looked around at the class and then went back to her notebook and began drawling.

John smiled as another boy came to sit next to him. This male seemed quite a bit bigger, and older than the freshman, butt he seemed nice enough, all the same. As he introduced himself as Oliver, John nodded, "I'm John." He looked up as Mr. Stone started papers circulating around the room, while telling them that these had more information about the project they were doing. When he recieved one of the papers, he looked down at it, following along as Mr. Stone spoke about what was going to happen. He grimaced as he heard that they were going to be doing all four of the projects. He wished for a moment that they would be able to work in partners although he doubted that anyone would be able to agree on a book.
Scanning down the list of projects, he tried to remember a book that he knew well enough to start on the projects, while still giving him enough information to complete all four parts well. Finally, he picked a book and started scribbling down ideas for it. Ranger's Apprentice: The Lost Stories would give him plenty of detail and plots, especially with the short story format which it had. He grappled briefly with the term, knowing he had learned it somewhere. Vinegars? No, vignettes, that was it. Shrugging, he scrawled onto his paper the headings, then set to work on the song-writing portion.
After a few minutes, John felt like he had the first song's chorus worked out. He didn't know the name yet, nor the rest of the lyrics, but he felt that it was a start.

Kate was getting a bit more excited about the projects, even before the class started. She wasn't sure what book, or books she would want to do, but she had a few in mind. Her favorites were children's books, but she wasn't sure how open her teacher would be to that, so she might have to settle in the middle or just cooperate with what he had in mind.
When she received the paper, she kept most of her attention on her teacher as he began to explain it, but began to scan over the details a bit on her own. She didn't really mind having to do all of the projects, and they seemed creative enough so she would have at least a bit of free rein. When asked for questions, she raised her hand high, not really shy as some of the other students seemed to be. Sure she was a freshman, but that wouldn't stop her from holding back. When called on, she asked her question clearly, "Will each project be on a different book, or all on the same?"
Ready to get started right away, she first chose to use The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo. It was a book that she had read when she was younger, but remained in a cherished spot in her bookshelf. The writing was gorgeous, in her opinion, and she doubted there would be any problem with her using. it. Deciding to start with the CD, she began to plan out the names of the song.
Thoughts already whirring, Rose looked over the sheet when she received it, pretty excited to get started. Listening to Mr. Stone explain that they'd be doing all four projects, she nodded, not particularly put out. She sort of appreciated normal book work more as she could get it done quicker and more efficiently, but creative stuff like this gave her things to think about. Each of the options certainly offered possibilities, though some were more exciting than others. The poster was certainly her favorite of the choices, and she was sure that she'd be starting with that.
After hearing Kate's question, she was curious of the answer herself, and waited to hear the response before starting. She had no questions herself, and began to quietly work on the project. She didn't really appreciate that they could have to use textures, and it sort of reminded her of an elementary school project. She would have much rather stuck to her elegant water colors and made a real masterpiece of it. She'd certainly try, however, to use the textures to lightly accent her piece rather than taking away from it. Spots of glitter could be pretty, and perhaps tin foil as well. Little seeds beads that she stuck on could also be nice if applied properly.
She knew that for the movie poster she wanted to use The Catcher in the Rye, a classic. The fact that is was a movie poster was sort of ironic, since JD Salinger had always said that it was "unactable." She had faith however, in the fact that she'd be able to nicely portray the book through a poster. On a sheet of printer paper, she began to sketch out an idea for the poster. She'd chosen to draw the scene at the end of the book with the carousel. The perspective was from behind Holden, featuring his red hunting cap, with him looking at Phoebe on the carousel. She made the rain pour down, but the carousel have a certain glow on it, with the lights shining through the rain.
Oliver nodded when the boy beside him returned the introduction, but then all talking ceased as the teacher took to the front of the room and began the lesson. Taking the papers that were handed back to him, he took the top sheet and handed the rest of them to the person sitting behind him Reading through the paper that went on to describe the four headings on the board, he gave a silent groan. He was neither artistic nor creative, so this was going to be an interesting project.
Opening his notebook, he began to list options of books he could do his report on, though none of them seemed to jump out at him as a goof book to work with.
He raised his head as questions toward the teacher began to fill the room. He rolled his eyes at the one about whether it was just one book or one per project. Wasn't it a little obvious that all four things were going to be done with one book, the handout didn't say each book, it said the book.
He returned his attention to trying to narrow his list down to one book, only half listening to the man's answers. He finally looked down at his paper and it had one book title there that hadn't been crossed out: Killing Mr Griffen by Lois Duncan. He knew that it was also already a movie, but he didn't know many books that didn't have at least one movie adaptation that went with them.

Cortney looked up when someone greeted her and she grinned when Erica, a fellow cheer squad member sat down in the seat next to her. "Hey, Erica!" She returned before her attention went back to the whiteboard, her mind already reeling through what book she was going to use.
She listened as Mr Stone walked to the front of the room and addressed the class. She looked at the paper as she handed the rest of them back, her eyes scanning the different projects. She raised her hands when he asked if there were any questions. Waiting for the others before her to voice their worries, she finally spoke up. "Can we use a series of books? I'm currently reading Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time, and I feel that they would do well for this project." She nodded her head at his answer, which had been the negative, and went back to trying to pick one book.
She sat back in her seat and reached down to her bag to pull out a mini-notebook that she knew was in there. Rather than finding the notebook though, her hand closed around the heavy spine of the book that she was had read and was returning to Cara; Chalked Up!, by Jennifer Sey.
She then opened her folder and tapped her purple gel pen against the paper, trying to work out where to start.
Just a note, I power-played Richard, only because he's my own character, so funnily enough I know what he's going to say

A few minutes after the instructions were given and Valerie received the handout she scanned the room for an empty seat. The morning had been a blur to Val, mainly because she was still recovering from yesterday's journey to the academy. Eventually she eyed an empty seat next to a cheerleader who seemed preoccupied. It looked like she was busy jotting down a list of books.
If there was one book series she knew a lot about, it was Harry Potter. But, as she thought some more about the project, she became unsure. What if they weren't allowed to do the project on fantasy books? Just in case that were the case, she had to make sure. She didn't want to risk getting an F when the year had only just begun. Especially when she typically earned As and Bs. If it were a yes, then she'd know exactly what to do. If not, she'd have to start all over again.
Quietly, Val sat down at her seat. Knowing that the project involved the same book for everything, she immediately decided on Harry Potter.Valerie enjoyed creative projects and this project was no exception. As she began to jot some ideas down, she also had a few questions. Val wasn't outspoken at first so she raised her hand, waiting for Mr. Stone to pick her.
