The Personality
Personality: While well mannered on the ground, Will is by nature a hot horse, always wanting to move and play. He knows not to pull forward when being led, but he will prance beside you. Under saddle he makes it clear that he is a powerful horse with a lot to give, and it takes an experienced hand to keep all of that power and enthusiasm in check. He loves to jump and tends to be careful in the air, though his excitement for jumping has been known to leave him approaching the jump flat and strung out, resulting in faults. Being a playful warmblood, he also is easily distracted and often forgets the task at hand. He is incredibly friendly with other horses and with people and loves attention and treats. He also loves trail rides, and while he is almost always moving at a pushing forward pace, he is not spooky in the slightest and is very dependable.

The History
Basic History: Will was born out of a top equitation horse in the local divisions by a top hunter stallion in the A circuit with the intent of being a big bodied, easy tempered hunter/jumper. Instead, his breeders got a fiery little colt who, though well proportioned, would not grow to be more than 16.1h by their estimate. Understanding he wouldn’t be the stallion they were hoping for, they had him gelded (early, so as to curb some of that enthusiasm), and worked toward training him to be successful in local hunter divisions. They soon discovered that though he was quite a looker and had an amazingly correct jump with the right approach, his personality simply wasn’t suited for the hunters. Willow’s trainer, seeing Will’s potential, bought him when he was just turning six and started training him to be a jumper, and Willow bought him shortly after. The two have been working together and competing in the jumpers ever since.
