The Personality
Personality: Typical of her breed, Autumn is a dependable mount who is the definition of bombproof. While she’s not the most personable of horses in that she is more stoic than outgoing, she is incredibly loyal to Forrest as she once was to his mom. She is a wonderful horse for a beginner, knowing when to listen but also knowing when to teach. While she’s older and can’t do what she could during her prime, not that her potential ever reached beyond local shows, she will get her rider from one side of a small crossrail to the other in one piece. She is greedy when it comes to lush, Spring and Summer grass. She has been known to get pushy when she sees good grass while being handwalked, and needs to be turned out with a muzzle during the months when the grass is richest.
Caution Around: Grass
The History
Basic History: Autumn’s sire and dam were both western pleasure horses, giving Autumn her easy and dependable temperament. Anna Wolf spotted Autumn at an auction and was drawn to the mare’s coloring. Not seeing any faults in her conformation, Anna bought the mare as a yearling and brought her along. She trained her for the adult equitation classes at local shows, knowing Autumn’s limitations and knowing that competing with her at any rated shows would purely be for fun. As Anna started a family and Autumn grew older, however, Anna decided it would be best to retire Autumn to the life of being a pleasure horse. When Anna got busy with her family and Forrest started taking care of Autumn, the two gradually formed a strong bond. Forrest has never felt more comfortable on any other horse.
