Blue Ridge is a fictional town located deep in the heart of Kentucky. It is home to one of the most well known equestrian academies in the United States. Students and staff from all over the world join the academy for what it has to offer. Do you have what it takes to join us and learn from the Academy?

Cortney gathered the clipboards she had readied for the tryouts and made sure that her uniform was perfect before she left her dorm and made her way to the cheer studio. Although she didn't have any riding commitments, she had been in and spoken with Sir Solomon to excuse herself from her job as barn hand until later that day so that she could govern the tryouts.
Walking into the studio, she smiled when she saw that their coach had already been in there and put up a long table for the current squad to at while the wannabe's had their chance to strut their stuff. She walked over and placed a clipboard on the table in front of each of the chairs, making sure that there were enough seats for each team member and the coach. Admittedly, the final decision would be up to her, but she felt it was better if the try-hards face the squad as a whole, she would easily see who was up for being in the squad and who wasn't.
She brushed down her skirt, she sat in one of the middle chairs and folded her hands on top of the clipboard in front of her as she waited for the others to arrive and then, for the games to begin.

After a quick shower, as she could hardly show up in the cheer studio smelling like horses, sweat and manure. She was sure that she could get away with the former, but the latter two wouldn't set a very good example. She dressed into an Academy tracksuit and made her way to the gymnasium.
She had been in earlier to make sure that the place was tidy and had set up a table for the squad, and herself, to sit at and observe those that came to tryout, but then her job as a barn hand had occupied the rest of her day.
Walking into the studio, she smiled when she saw the captain already there, seated at the table. "Hey Cort." She greeted the junior as she took the end chair, furthest from the captain, and looked through the papers attached to the clipboard. "This looks serious." At first, she had been afraid that they had made the wrong choice for the squad captain, but it seemed that the girl was taking everything in her stride. The coach had a feeling that she was getting help from someone, not that she was going to complain though, as the girl needed as many people backing her as possible for her to remain the confident person she had become.

Blythe left her dorm a few minutes after her roommate had headed to the gym. While Cortney had reminded her about the tryouts when the older girl had started getting ready, Blythe had finished cleaning her fish tank before she had headed to the shower. Now, her hair dried and pulled into a high ponytail, wearing athletic shorts, a fitted tee, and her practice cheer shoes, she locked the door behind her before she walked out of the house and towards the gym.
Had anyone asked her if she was nervous, if she deigned to answer, she would probably have said no. With her experience and talent, was there any way that they could pass? She found the way to the cheer gym easily, a broad smile as she entered the hall. She left her bag against the wall, but pulled out a CD labled in her script-like handwriting as having 'Royals' burnt to it. Walking over to where Courtney sat, she offered the CD with a grin as she joked, "I may be a bit early, but my roommate wouldn't leave me in peace." She wandered off to the side to begin stretching, not wanting to appear to be bribing the captain, not that she needed it.
Brooke pet her tiny tricolor ball of fluff for a long while before she was able to coax herself into getting ready for tryouts. She hopped in the shower then vigorously dried her hair with a fluffy towel and braided it into a bun on top of her head. Her outfit consisted of a pink workout top, a pair of black spandex shorts, and her old white cheer shoes. She stood in front of the mirror, evaluating herself. There wasn't a single doubt in her mind that she wouldn't make the team, even if she barely tried, but she planned on over doing it just to show off.
Though she hadn't been at the school long at all, she made sure finding the gym was one of her top priorities. She walked in with her shoulders squared and her face nearly expressionless. Her bag dropped to the floor and she pulled out her CD with 'Catch My Breath' burned onto it. Brooke walked over to the girl already in her cheer uniform and held out her hand with the CD. "I assume you'll want this now." She smiled brightly, though it was less than halfhearted, then walked over to an open space on the floor and began some small stretches.
I'll make it. I was on the team at my last school. I should be able to make this team as well." Christiana looked at herself in the mirror. She had her dark red hair up in a high pony tail. There was no bumps in her hair, and she was satisfied with out her hair turned out. But it would be messed up by the end of the day. She had on an all black work out top. With a red check mark, it was the logo for Nike. She had on all black shorts, that stopped at about mid-thigh. And she had on her black sneakers and did a little bounce in the mirror. She was happy with how she looked. "I look good, don't I, Icy." Christiana said this as she looked down at her kitten. Her kitten was already waiting in her bag, with her little head poked out. The black kitten only let out a meow in reply. Christiana grabbed her CD with the word 'swagger jagger' on it. It was a pretty fast song. But she had a good dance for it. She put it in her bag and lifted the bag over her shoulder. "I'm Ready!" It didn't take long for Christiana to find the gym, she walked in and set her bag down beside the other bag. She didn't have any look on her face, just a normal, chill look. She grabbed the CD out of her bag and walked up to what she guessed was the Judges. "Hello." She gave a slight grin and set the CD down on the table, and waited on any orders they would give her.

Cortney pulled a face at their coach. "This is serious!" She retorted as she rolled her eyes. "This is where we fill in those empty spots in the squad.
She looked over as the door opened and smiled as the first girl walked in. "Your room mate is a very sensible person then." She replied with a nod and a grin as she pulled the girl's CD closer to herself and put it in the CD player, being the first victim to arrive, meant that Blythe got to go first.
It didn't take too long before another girl entered, this one also looking like she meant business. "Might help if you want music." She replied as she took the CD.
She drew in a breath to get things started when the doors opened again to give yet another girl entrance. She flashed the girl a smile as she pulled the CD closer to herself and tucked it under the second girl's disk. She then rose to her feet. "Welcome to the try-outs. You and you." She pointed to the last two to enter. "You can wait outside the door and will be sent in as the other leaves." When they had done as asked she looked at Blythe. "You're on. She sat down, pushed play and watched the other girl's routine, marking things down on the sheet of paper on her clipboard, writing a couple of extra comments.
When Blythe was finished, Cort took the girl's CD out and handed it back to her. "You will be informed of our decision by tomorrow. You can send the brunette in."
"And go." She said as she pushed play. Once again she circled the numbers that she thought were the best suited for this girl and when she had finished, the captain did nothing more then nod her head. "On you way out, ask the last to enter."
"Start." She said to the third girl as she pushed play and went through the routine of judging the girl's skills. "We'll let you know how you did tomorrow. She said once the girl had finished.
When they were alone, she turned to the others at the table and arched her eyebrows...

Andie reached up behind her head and pulled her pony tail tighter. She sat up as the wannabes started arriving, but quite happily sat back and allowed the captain to take charge over the events, after all it was her squad. She was impressed with how Cortney seemed to be unimpressed by anyone in the way that she spoke to them, there was no friendliness in her tone, even when talking to Blythe, and she let them know from the start that they were here to be judged.
As the girl worked through their routines, one at a time, and she wrote down their scores, adding additional comments to the bottom of their pages on where they could have done better or a little less enthusiastic. It was obvious that each of the girls had a cheer background, and they could each be a good addition to the current squad. However, them making the team and remaining there would all depend on how well they fitted into what Blue Ridge already had. After all, making the squad, didn't guarantee them a place on the squad until graduation.
Once the room was empty, other than the current squad, Andie spread the pages she had in front of her out so that she could see each of them, and waited to see what Cortney had to say...

Blythe grinned at Cortney's comment, although she walked away without responding, seeing as the next girl had arrived.
When the tryouts officially started, Blythe waited for her roommate's instructions, not at all fazed by the impersonality. When she was called upon to go first, she shrugged pragmatically, finding her space on the mat as she watched the other two girls walk out. When Cortney started her music, Adonya launched into the routine she had decided on. While it didn't include any flying, which was what she felt the most confident doing, it had plenty of flips and tucks, rather than groundwork.
She finished with a back tuck, landing and throwing her hands up, her smile still on her face. Only slightly out of breath, she walked forward and collected her CD, putting it back into its case before nodding at Cortney and the rest of the team. She turned smartly and walked out, pausing next to the dark haired girl and nodding towards the door, "You're up." Pulling her bag closer, she dug out her water bottle, taking a drink as she walked towards her dorm to change, before she decided on what she would do for the rest of the day.
Brooke arched her eyebrows at the way the captain had responded to her and turned on her heels to warm up. She already knew that her cheer experience was going to be a fun one.
Her hands rested on her hip bones as she and the two other girls were being addressed. She wasn't happy with having to wait outside but she did so and waited outside of the gym until the blonde had come back from her own tryouts. Brooke nodded and entered the gym with the same face she had entered with the first time. Her routine involved some dance moves though it mainly showcased her flexibility and acrobatic talent. She could guess that she was probably the smallest person on the team, but she preferred groundwork as people have a tendency to 'accidentally' drop Brooke while she's in the air.
Brooke pushed through the doors with a grin on her face and looked at the girl waiting. "You're up." She smirked ever so slightly and looked the girl up and down slowly. "Good luck, you're going to need it." Her smirk grew then she walked away, pulling her bag up higher on her shoulder. Now it was off to her first ride with that manager and the zorse.
Christiana waited her turn outside of the gym just like she was told to do. She had did a few stretches to warm her up. She practice her dance one time all the way through, without any music, just counting off in her head. Christiana had good rhythm, and knew how to keep a beat. So she didn't have a problem with just counting in her head. Once she was done with her routine, she was called in. She was ready, she couldn't feel better about this. Christiana walked into the gym and took her place on the mat. She kept her fists on her hip with a sweet grin on her face as she waited for the music to start. She waited just a little while into the song before her dance started. Once it was her time she had just got done counting herself in. "5,6,7,8..." Christiana didn't do any flips or anything like that, she just had sharp movements, and a few good jumps. She knew this dance by her heart. She had her feet pointed when ever her food came off the ground, and her grin never left her face. At the end of her dance, she ended with, what felt like the best toe touch she had ever did. She held her last too beats before she placed her fits onto her hips again and just held her grin at the judges. She waited for the music to turn off before she went up and got her CD back. She grabbed her bag and placed her CD back inside it and walked out the gym. She drank from her cold bottle of water and walked back to her dorm. "I did good."
