Staff or Student>> Student

Turn away 'cause I need you more
Personality>> Rhiann is a hard worker. She believes that everything needs to be earned. her parents always taught her to be humble and reach out when she sees that someone could use a hand. Her parents tried really hard to make her a clean-cut, proper lady, but things didn’t go exactly as planned. Growing up on a farm, she took more to helping with the horses than helping her mother in the house. She could be considered one of the guys, but also gets along with girls. She’s sort of in the middle with that. She likes getting down and dirty, but also enjoys matching her cob’s equipment to her polo shirts. Rhiann is a bit of an adrenaline junkie, doing crazy (and sometimes dangerous) things just for the fun of it. That’s how she grew up, but now that she’s older she’s pretty calm. Her socialization skills are pretty good despite the fact that she grew up on the Cardiff countryside far away from the city.
Likes>> being outside, welsh cobs, pop, swimming in lakes, music
Dislikes>> big city environment, when people make assumptions about her cob, needing medical attention, how her mom only speaks to her in welsh on the phone, people who flaunt their wealth
Fears>> her father losing the ranch, him passing down the ranch to her brother instead of her
Hopes>> to run the family ranch, to get a truck as a graduation present
Secrets>> She has a crush on a female barn hand
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> Rhiann has an average build. She’s not small, for sure, but she’s not large either. She stands at about 5’4” and has a substantial amount of muscle. The girl is strong from her work on the ranch growing up, so she doesn’t come off as a girl you would want to start a fight with. She’s not aggressive though, only in verbal debates. Her hair ranges from medium blonde to a dark blonde depending on the season. She dyes it chocolate or almost black occasionally, not for any particular reason other than she feels like changing things up. On a normal day you’ll see her wearing jeans, paddock boots and a jumper or a polo shirt. She dresses practically and comfortably, but at the same time comes off as respectable. She cleans up pretty nicely though when she wants to. You’d be surprised. She is usually found with her headphones in when she works at the barn.
Markings>>Rhiann has plenty of scars, ranging from barely noticeable to serious things. She did a lot of cross country riding back home, so most of them could be traced back to those adventures. She has an epic scar on her leg from a mishap with the paddock fence. She doesn’t have any tattoos yet, but plans on getting a few when she turns eighteen in three months, even though her parents would flip their lids. She wants to get her cob’s name on her somewhere and probably her family crest too.
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>> Rhiann’s grandma always referred to her as the “ox child” because she was pretty tough when it came to injuries. She’d fall out of trees, scrape her knees, the usual kid things. She used to run around outside in the rain with no coat or shoes and not catch pneumonia, just a runny nose. She did break bones, but it didn’t stop her. She’s broken her right wrist twice, left wrist once (and it was bad), left ankle, right leg and so many toes and fingers she can’t count them all. It’s funny though because she’s only been to the emergency room twice in her whole life. Once for her wrist and then once for her leg. She has a knee problem that happened when she was eleven and comes back when it gets cold.
Criminal History>> She got caught trespassing on her mean neighbor’s property when she was nine. Someone came up with the idea to race his sheep. The police came down and just told them not to do it again. It wasn’t an official thing.
Full History>> Rhiann was born and raised in Cardiff, Wales, on her family’s ranch that has been around for generations. She has an older brother who is off in college now studying “something geeky” as she likes to refer to it. He’s studying computer science. The Griffins a major Welsh Cob breeder in Cardiff, so the girl has been around horses her whole life. She was a wild child, running around the woods with the ponies just being a little barn rat. Her mother tried training her to be a proper lady by sending her to the boarding school that she went to when she was a kid. It didn’t work very well. She hated it. Everyone there was so cutthroat and rich. She didn’t want her mom to waste the money, so she convinced her to send her daughter somewhere else.
Rhiann was the test dummy for all of the cobs her father bred. She’d help him break them and train them because he was too big to do it. She was in charge of feeding them and maintaining the barn because she wasn’t allowed to handle the stallions by herself. She was entered in various local events where she placed moderately well. As she got more serious about riding, she was entered in bigger competitions in the surrounding United Kingdom. Going to school in Kentucky was a really random thing. Her parents thought it might be good for her to really have an opportunity to be independent and also experience a new culture outside of their own that had been drilled into her head since birth. They sent her over with a cob that she had been working with since it was born. She flies home for breaks to be with her family and calls them every other week to check up on things.
As a student, Rhiann is pretty good. She’s not king of the nerds like her brother, but she has a brain. Science is her favorite subject and she’s proven to be pretty good at it. She’s not a huge fan of math or English, but she’s decent at it. History is a whole new thing for her. She’s been taught things from the UK point of view, so hearing things from the American point of view threw her off quite a bit. So she actually has to study and pay attention in that class. She likes history too, though it’s not her favorite.
