The Personality
Personality: Ortega is definitely a mount for more experienced riders, as he takes a lot of confidence and control in the saddle to maneuver effectively. He is powerful and adjustable, though, and very cooperative with a rider who knows how he communicates. He is quite intelligent, and gets bored easily, tending to misbehave and stop listening when he's not being challenged enough. In the pasture he is fairly communicative and playful with other horses, and generally tends to get along fairly well.

The History
Basic History: Ortega was sired by one of the most prominent (and prolific) eventing stallions in the business. It soon turned out, however, that he would be the disappointment child compared to his relatives and sire. Although he was handsome, strong and intelligent, he had a really silly-looking stride that pretty much ensured he couldn't compete seriously in dressage. He competed for half a year on the show jumping circuit before being bought by Evany Schaefer after selling three ranch horses.
