The Personality
Personality: Murphy is a spirited young cob. In the pasture he is playful and social. Handling wise, he has good manners. He isn't going to drag you around or refuse to move. In the barn, he likes to knock things over and look for treats in your pockets. He'll steal things that you leave within his reach, so you can't hang things on his stall unless you want him to eat it. He's an escape artist, so you have to make sure his stall or the pasture gate is completely locked. He's easy to tack and groom. Under the saddle, Murph is a smooth ride. He's strong and steady, but needs a confident rider. He is willing to do anything as long as his rider asks with confidence. He is the most lively when out on cross country courses. He is not suitable for unexperienced or very young riders.
Caution Around: Umbrellas, leaving things around
The History
Basic History: Brenin Bach was sired by Brenin and born at the Griffin Ranch in West Wales. Rhiann was there with his mother, Annwyl, making sure things went smoothly while her father shadowed her. He had promised her a horse of her own under the circumstances that she raised him and asked for help when she needed it. Two dozen horses lived on 2,500 acres of property with hills on either side of it. Rhiann and her father broke him in when he was three. The girl made it a point to make him as spook proof as possible by walking him over tarps and through obstacles she set up with things she found around the property. She spent a lot of time with him, hours each day working with him like her dad worked with the other young horses. By the time he was five, he was sound under the saddle and able to be sent with Rhiann to school. The transition was a bit rocky with a completely new environment. It took him a few weeks to adjust to the weather, ground conditions and other horses. In the beginning he was pretty skittish, but after around six weeks he was looking good.
