So since I've been here for a little while, I figure I'd put my horse up here. I've been riding since I was seven, but we bought my horse this past June, after leasing her for me for about a year (when it became clear she was exactly what I needed and not what the owner wanted).
She's a 2004 Thoroughbred, chestnut mare. Successful on the track, but when they tried to breed her, she miscarried both times. She was passed around and sent back to the track, but by that time she was 8 and too slow. So, we got a hold of her and I've been bringing her up ever since.
I'm a hardcore eventer, and I LOVE my sport like none other. My went Beginner Novice (BE80 for the british folk, not sure what level in other countries) in the spring, and in the fall we bumped up to Novice (BE90). Right now we're schooling Training (not sure what the british version is, but the height is 1 meter) and Preliminary (the one-star level with the FEI). We'll go debut Training in the spring, and I imagine that by the time I've qualified her at that level, we'll be ready to move up to Preliminary.
She's the first and only horse I've gotten to work with that's competitive, and we haven't found her limit yet.
She's also who I based Cassidy's horse on, loosely, but my girl is much more the Chestnut Thoroughbred Mare stereotype in SO MANY WAYS. To be frank, she's a handful.
Here she was at her first show December 2012
(This link should work, it's to my facebook but it says it'll work even if someone doesn't have FB)
Clover at her first show
This was us schooling a watetr obstacle back in April 2013
This is a really blurry picture of us at a show this past December, 2013
It was a 3'6" jumper class (about 1.1 meters)
And this was her on Christmas day <3
I've got another horse, my old man Rocky (who is my profile pic) and I'll probably gush about him one day. He's my heart horse and I don't know what I'll do without him when he finally kicks the bucket. But I'll save him for another day. He's retired from any real work now, he's 27 this year, and I just hop on him every once in a while and play around.
