The Personality
Personality: Duran is a very sweet and loving horse most of the time. There are days when he’s just moody and not willing to do much of anything. Most of the time he’s playful, full of energy, and more than willing to try his heart out. He hasn’t liked dogs since birth and no matter how much training and desensitizing Kenna does with him, he has never let go of his aggression towards dogs. He’s not super bad, but if a canine gets in his paddock he’ll pin his ears and charge it. Out riding, as long as a dog doesn’t cross his path he stays in an excellent mood… ears pricked, eyes bright and happy… He likes people and has been known to ‘bully’ people if they’re ignoring him.

The History
Basic History: Duran was born and raised in Canada, where he braved two years of harsh, cold winters before being bought and shipped down to become Kennedy’s personal horse. While in Canada, he was started by his breeder (a longtime friend of the Hunt family and professional trainer in her own right) and he was finished as an Eventer while in Montana. Living on a predominantly western horse ranch, Duran learned to carry a western saddle as well as English and he and Kennedy have been together ever since. Kennedy and the man who finished him, along with the woman who bred and started his training have been the only three people to ever sit astride his back.
