Full History>> Kevin was born in the house he grew up as his mother wanted to do an at home birth. He grew up perfectly fine and went to work with his father on the ranch, following him around and petting the horses until he could start to carry things for his father. When he was three his lessons in ridding started and he had his own pony by the time he was five, the pony was old and bomb proof so he could ride the pony without anyone leading it but only out side of the riding ring if he was with his father or one the ranch hands.
When he was seven years old he got a little sister, which he proved to be a good big brother and helped watch her when he wasn't helping his father or one of the ranch hands with work. By the time his sister was born, he was competing in the local rodeo in pole bending, barrel racing, and sheep/goat roping. He was only doing those because he was too young to do the bull riding or the calf roping.
At the age of 15 he went for the junior bull riding and despite winning that event on his first try, he did end up in the hospital with a broken leg and cracked rib from a headbutt form the steer. At a different rodeo he did the Junior bull riding again and ended up with a broken arm, loosing that one. As he was healing he spent time taking care of the horses around the ranch and learned more from his parents as they taught him how to run the ranch and handle the horses. His main job after his leg healed was training the foals to walk on lead and get use to human contact.
The next year when he was 16 he and his friends all went for junior bull riding and he managed to go the while rodeo season without getting hurt. At least until the last rodeo of the season when he got too confident and ended up getting scrapped by the fake horns on the bull on his side. It was another trip to the hospital and stitches along with a scar that would be left over. Again while healing he was put on foal training on the ranch and thus he learned what he could from the old ranch hand that basically taught him via bossing him around.
The next time he got hurt, he started training some of the foals without being told to as he figured it was the easy work and there was some wild mustang foals there for basic training. After getting knocked to the ground by a spirited yearling he learned that the mustangs were harder to work with and got stubborn about them. By the time he was healed up he had the spirited yearling trained to at least carry a saddle on her back and had her training higher than the other foals her age normally would have. Which earned him praise from the old ranch hand, which was something that didn't happen often.
Over the next few years he spent time learning and it wasn't until he graduated from high school that he started to work full time on the family ranch. He worked with mostly the foals but also helped with training the older horses and any who came into the ranch to be trained. Once he learned all he could from his family and ranch hands he started to try to find a job and ended up finding one in Kentucky that would hire him and put him though collage. His entire time in collage he proved to be always in the top three of his classes and the top of the classes that was horse related.
When he got out of collage he was suggested to apply to Blue Ridge Riding Academy by his boss for stable hand spot in the broodmare stable. When he got a call and was asked to come show his abilities he was a bit shocked as he knew that BRRA was one of the most prestigious riding academys in the US. But he agreed and went to them the next day he was off and did an interview with them along with a tour of the school grounds and meeting the people he would be working with. A few weeks went by before he was hired and he moved into the school with his mare that he had been trained before leaving home and while he was in collage. He worked as a stable hand for a year and then for half a year until the Foal Handling/Training Instructor opened up and he tried out for that job, getting it.
