Shine a light through an open door
Full Name>>Lacy Lauret Fairbrook
Nicknames>> His Mother’s always called him "Kitten", but beyond that most of the nicknames he's earned over the years really aren't for pure of mind or faint of heart.
Age>> April 1st ; 16
Staff or Student>> Student
House>> Blue Ribbon
Gender>> Male
Sexuality>> Homosexual
Face Claim>> Yohio
Turn away 'cause I need you more
Personality>> If you were told to use one word to describe Lacy "Diva" would probably be the first you blurted out, without so much as a second thought, and you’d be absolutely correct. He’s a pert and cheerful young man with a grandiose and flamboyant flare, as well as a certain suavity that attracts and keeps people on their toes. He uses it as the perfect mask when dealing with strangers and acquaintances on a pleasant and somewhat formal level. However, if you get to know him, even if it’s only a little bit, you’ll see more of his personality shining through the surface and just what a skilled little actor he can be when the moment calls for it, though his pleasantries aren't always staged.
With a sharp tongue and an even sharper wit that he shamelessly flaunts, Lacy’s incredibly ambitious and competitive with wickedly impish tendencies and a penchant for brazen and somewhat provocative flirting. He’s a trickster who delights in teasing and cares very little about what others think of him, never sugar coating the truth and he isn't afraid to be painfully blunt whenever possible. Because of this it’s safe to say that there’s little chance of experiencing boredom when you have Lacy at your side, and though it can take a while to build up his trust, he’s a solid and fiercely protective friend who’ll come to your aide and stick up for you without hesitation, and whose loyalty rarely wavers without a good given reason.
I would strongly advise against getting on Lacy’s bad side... He can pack a nasty temper at times and practically coined the act of Escalation of Retaliation. Holding no qualms over making your life hell if you wrong him he tends to enjoy tossing out comments that dig into his enemy’s psyche, dragging up old memories when he can find them and easily striking at least one nerve, if not multiple. He doesn't back down from a challenge and will blatantly do anything he can to get under your skin when he’s angry. Needless to say this little ballerina is guaranteed to verbally and emotionally rip you to shreds.

Fears>> The thing that scares Lacy the most would probably have to be failure. The thought of not achieving his life goals and not being able to make a name for himself… Being a faceless nobody… It's enough to make him sick and would push him over the edge if it were to come true.
His second would definitely have to be developing an eating disorder. He’s watched his Mom suffer through anorexia in the modeling industry and knows all too well that it’s a less than savory and very real issue that arises quite often in ballet.
Hopes>> Lacy has a whole list of hopes and dreams. The main being to prove others wrong, that he can be both a successful ballet dancer and be a serious eventer.
He wants to claim as many ribbons and trophies as he possibly can and would love to attend the Paris Opera Ballet School after graduating. He'd also eventually like to own a horse of his own. He’s ridden his mother’s, borrowed countless others, but has never been able to get attached.
Secrets>> Before coming to Blue Ridge Lacy was involved in a rather scandalous romantic relationship with his twenty-eight-year-old dance coach, Joshua. However his long developed feelings for his adult companion were crushed when he was thrown under the bus after Joshua’s girlfriend caught the two in a compromising position. Thus only driving him to work harder and obsess over dance even more in the spiteful hope to someday be able to rub Joshua’s face in his success.
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> Upon their first glance most would scoff in disbelief if you were to tell them that Lacy was, in fact, a boy. Only to later stare uncontrollably, a bit frazzled with their mouth slightly gaping like a dead fish once they realized it was true. Some are intrigued by it... Others were maybe caught checking him out or are now disgusted, offended or uncomfortable. Either way, Lacy doesn't care. He's gotten used to it over the years, and has even grown to enjoy it on some strange level of quirkiness.
Anyway... For starters Lacy’s been blessed with fine features, clear and soft ivory skin, full lips, and mischievous round espresso brown eyes that’re framed by long, thick lashes that could make the model in the latest mascara ad green with envy and the most seasoned of makeup artists cry. His hair is champagne blond in color, smooth, straight, and comes down to an inch or so above his elbows when he doesn't have it tied back in some sort of a braid or pinned up during riding. He’s a dainty creature of Russian and French descent that just barely hits the mark of 5'7'' with his lithe build and slight feminine curve all balanced on a pair of long, gracefully slender legs that carry him with an almost arrogant confidence; head held high, shoulders back and his movements smooth and refined. There’s even a little sway to his hips, something that he most likely picked up from his mother growing up. Being in an almost constant state of awareness when it comes to his body is a necessary precaution needed for Lacy to take part on both his passions, as he's been told countless times before that not only do dancers have to remain trim and fit, but that horseback riding develops all the wrong muscles for ballet. He has to argue that so do most workouts. Even walking develops the wrong muscles, but that doesn't mean that dancers should be bound to wheelchairs when not practicing or performing.
Clothing wise he loves fashion, it’s in his blood. He’s the proud owner of an extensive wardrobe that’s forever changing and being swapped around. As is his sense of style. Lacy can be classy and dramatically chic one day, then rough and punk the next. It all just depends on what sort of mood he’s in.
Markings>> Lacy has his ear-lobes pierced and a beauty mark under his right eye.
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>> Lacy was a pretty sickly little thing as a baby. He came into the word faced with a whole mess of issues with his respiratory system, and even came down with severe pneumonia three times before he turned four. Thankfully though as he’s grown Lacy’s gotten stronger, healthier and hasn't had many problems since, besides the fact that he tends to push himself over the limit.
Criminal History>> He has a clear record, but that’s not really because he’s never done anything illegal (Joy riding, sneaking into clubs…) It’s simply that he hasn't gotten caught yet.
Full History>> Being the only child of the super model Simone Fairbrook, Lacy came wailing into the world in Toronto Canada on a wet and dreary April morning, a month before his actual due date. He was conceived during a short fall fling Simone had with his father - Kirill Alexandrove, the head director of the Royal Canadian Ballet Academy. She thought it was love, but unfortunately found shortly after the announcement of her pregnancy that she was terribly mistaken. Learning that Kirill was not only a married man and already had a family, but that he had no intentions of supporting his mistress, or claiming their son as his own. This left Simone to raise an ill infant all on her own, trying to juggle motherhood and her career to the best of her abilities.
Despite the lack of a father figure in his life, Lacy’s always felt that he’s had a fantastic childhood. He never lacked for anything he needed or truly wanted, had a doting and loving parent, a good private home education, and always had the chance to experience new things that even some adults never had the opportunity to…. So, as far as he’s concerned, life was good. He spent most of his younger years either in him and his mother’s city condo being home schooled by his part-time nanny or with Simone on photo-shoots and runway events. It was there, while he was running about, causing mischief and typically playing dress-up with the discarded outfits or finding ways to get the other models and assistants wrapped around his little finger that he quickly started to learn about the wile, and sometimes vicious ways of feminine competition and cliques.
His love for riding took root at a very young age. Even before he was born while Simone was ban from riding during her pregnancy, she still volunteered when she could at the stables where she bordered her own mare and took lessons in dressage and enjoyed English pleasure. She used horses to escape the stress and ugliness of her career and got Lacy involved with horsemanship as soon as she possibly could, knowing from personal experience how working with equines could provide a person with a deep sense of inner peace and help to build confidence. She wanted to be able to share that with Lacy, and it wasn’t long after his first few rides being led around the arena that he was completely and utterly hooked. He was bitten by the horse bug, but this time it wouldn’t be just that passing phase that so many kids go through.
It wasn’t until Lacy was six that he had his first encounter with ballet. Simone was invited by a friend to attend a holiday showing of The Nutcracker, which happened to be hosted by Kirill. Simone was hesitant to accept at first, knowing that her former flame would be somewhere behind the stage, but in the end she went against her better judgment and decided it was really the only chance she would have to introduce Kirill to their son he had never met, and hopefully convince him to be part of Lacy’s life. Lacy didn’t find out about this until he was much older.
During the show, while other children in the rows squirmed in their seats and fussed out of boredom, Lacy was held captivated by the dancers and their seemingly weightless movements. When Simone took him backstage, leaving him alone for a few moments while she tried to find Kirill, Lacy stood glued to the spot as he gawked in awe at the beautiful chaos and looked up to the girls passing by in their frilly tutus, glistening pointe shoes and see-through wraps that showed off their muscular yet delicate physiques. Enchanted by their perfect turn-outs and elegant perfection with not a hair misplaced. It was all set in stone when the Sugar Plum Fairy paused briefly to smile at him before she pranced out across the stage. In that moment, to a little boy, he thought of her as a real life doll - his music box come to life and he fell in love.
The mother and son left the show shortly after Simone returned, teetering on the edge of a panic attack. Her desperate attempts to get Kirill to step up and do the right thing had blown up in her face, and though she tried to put the whole mess behind them, but it was hard as Lacy kept brining the night up, and eventually started to beg for her to let him take ballet lessons. She didn’t like the idea at first, fearing that Lacy, who was already so small and even then had a feminine look and behavior to him, would be picked on by other kids, but after doing some research she eventually caved once she was convinced that ballet would not only help Lacy get some social interaction with other his age, but benefit and help him to develop better coordination, build some muscle, and fine-tune his motor skills.
As he grew up Lacy’s natural talent for dance and riding skyrocketed. As did his enjoyment of both sports, and eventually, so did his personality. As a ‘tween Lacy quickly learned that he hated nothing more than being told that he “couldn’t” or “wouldn’t” be able to achieve something. Bringing forth his definiteness and planting the seeds that would later become the fruits of obsessions. Everything in his life was going well, until something changed in Simone. She used to be a fit woman whose weight balanced out her statuesque height and athletic build wonderfully. However gradually over time her meals became smaller and smaller, eventually becoming less frequent and almost stopping altogether. She became deeply depressed, having almost no interest in the things she formerly enjoyed, and before too long she would hardly leave her room accept to go to work or to “eat” (Lacy never counted a bite or two of iceberg salad and a few baby carrots as a meal), witch Lacy caught her throwing right back up on more than one occasion.
He tried to take care of her, bring her up out of the gloom and get her to eat something. Anything. But, much to his distress, there was little he could do to help his mother while she slowly wasted away. It was the start of Lacy’s world falling apart…. While Simone was sick, she made an attempt to reach out to Kirill and beg him for help. She knew that she had a problem and that she needed help, but at that point there was nowhere for Lacy to go and no one to look after him while she sought it. After about the tenth desperate message on the answering machine in his work office, Kirill gave in and decided to meet with Lacy and Simone in their home... Needless to say it didn’t go well... Kirill was already under a great deal stress. His wife was threatening to put an end to their failing marriage and looking to gain full custody of their twin daughters if he couldn’t get a hold of his drinking and cocaine addictions. So when he met his son, who was at this point a young man and really starting to come out of his shell as the person he is now, Kirill blew a fuse and went on a rant about how no son of his was “A twisted little faggot who wasted his time in dresses and playing with ponies all day” and that “He’ll never amount to anything decent”. The meeting ended with Kirill storming out the door in a rage, Simone bursting into tears, and Lacy being furiously heartbroken.
He had been picked on before a few times here and there for being himself, but until now Lacy had always just turned a cold shoulder to bullies. No pain, no trouble. It was being treated so cruelly by his own flesh and blood that hurt him immensely. His first real look at how horrendously brutal and cold people could be. Especially under the pretty painted masks that people in the show industry wear… After that Lacy began to obsess over the things that had once been his favorite hobbies. Even more so after his instructor Joshua told him that he could eventually have to choose one or the other if he ever wanted to reach a professional level in either. The pit in his heart turned into an undying desire to prove everyone around him wrong.
Sometime later Kirill was blackmailed by Simone’s agent into paying for both Simone’s treatment and housing in a rehabilitation center as well as the tuition needed to put Lacy through a boarding school of his choice while his mother receives the help she desperately needs.
He chose Blue Ridge and plans to use it and its resources as a tool to help him achieve his goals.
We found love in a hopeless place
