The Personality
Personality: Finegal is a very experienced and talented gelding. He is rather sweet and wouldn’t hurt a fly, and is overall very trustworthy. Cora would trust him with anything and rides him most often. He’d very talented, and would put his whole heart into anything his rider wants him to do. He is trained as both and hunter and a show jumper, but is most talented as a show jumper, and he and Cora went further together in the show jumping discipline. Fin will through himself fully into everything with complete trust in his rider, and is a bold and scopey jumper, which makes him perfect for his disciplines. He adores alfalfa cubes, and always knows when Cora has them on her. He’s very affectionate, and has a habit of getting very close to Cora when she is in his stall. Though Fin is very trustworthy, he performs much better with a rider who he knows and has already built a bond with. Since he had been working with Cora for so long, he is at his best with her, and isn’t very comfortable with other riders, though he isn’t necessarily bad.
Caution Around: Brushing his back legs and picking out his back hooves

The History
Basic History: Fin was bought as a yearling by a hunter/jumper and show jumping show stable and was trained in the disciplines well. He showed a lot of potential at an early age and quite a lot of work was put into him. Eventually, Cora Addison, a promising rider, was assigned to him and they trained together and began competing for the barn. They were very successful, and his bond with Cora grew immensely. Eventually, he was purchased by Cora and put into her name so that she could make decisions regarding him, but she kept him boarding at the same barn, where they continued to train and show under. They made it to the top of the show circuit for show jumping, and some hunter shows, though Fin showed more promise in show jumping. After Cora’s accident, Cora stopped showing with him, though continued to train him just as intensely, wanting to keep the both of them strong and talented. She gelded him after this, later than normal, so Fin still possesses some stallion like qualities, but he was very polite and calm to begin with, and usually only shows this when he is around a mare in heat. Fin will come to Blue Ridge with Cora, and she hopes that her new career will not interrupt their training.

REMINGTON

The Personality
Personality: Remi is young warmblood gelding who still has a lot to learn. He shows a lot of talent and potential, but his skills need to be refined in order for him to be a successful hunter. He shows potential to be a hunter, but also could be a jumper, though Cora plans to keep him entirely in the hunter discipline and hopes that he will excel in it. Remi has a scopey but careful jump, and his form is usually very nice. He has a long stride at the canter, and a good even trot as well. Remi often jumps quite a bit higher than he should and at those times, he looks sort of messy, but Cora is trying to work it out of him. He also needs to have a confident rider send him towards fences or he will refuse. Cora doesn’t have much of an issue with this, but occasionally with bigger fences he will refuse. Remi is sweet, but very sensitive, and he will spook at certain things. He’s scared to step in water and hates the rain, which is a reason why he is a better hunter, as he wouldn’t have to deal with water jumps. He also hates waving things, especially flags, and Cora plans in desensitizing him. Remi has these little faults, but he has already proven to be a fast learner, and Cora has great hope in him.

The History
Basic History: Remi was born in the Netherlands on a warmblood breeding farm and was sold as a young colt to a training farm there. He learned some loose basics in jumping, but was never trained very competitively. He spent his time there as the mount of an older woman who didn’t have any plans for the young horse, and had bought him for his fancy bloodlines and good looks. She rode him recreationally and had the trainer ride him quite often too, and so he learned all the basics that he would need to know. He was gelded there, and soon after bought by Cora’s stable in Virginia. Remi was sent to the United States and was immediately bought by Cora, who had been looking for a good prospective hunter. She began to train him there and plans to continue to train him at Blue Ridge even though he has already shown significant progress and is going very well.

SONNENBLUME

The Personality
Personality: Sophie is inquisitive, clever, and playful. She still acts like a foal, and wants everyone to play with her all the time, which older horses do not always appreciate. Curious, she gets into anything she can, and is know to undo any latch that is not reinforced with a clip or "horse-proof" latch, though it won't be long before she figures out the "horse-proof" latches as well, at the rate she's going. Sophie is sweet, but a little mouthy, and always wants to be in everyone's business. She's easily interested in everything, and doesn't possess the "mare-ish" qualities that horse owners often try to avoid. She will try to make friends with anyone who happens to walk by, and quickly becomes a favorite in any barn. Sophie is still very young and learning her job. She's eager to learn, but is confused by jumping. She's still learning to get her feet under her while being ridden, and is rather green in that respect. She just needs the right, consistent training, and she will become a consistent hunter. Free-jumping, she has proved herself to have amazing scope, but she needs to learn to channel this under saddle. Right now she is a little sloppy, but hopefully she will quickly learn.
Caution Around: Doors, Gates, and Latches. Sophie has a clever habit of undoing any latch she can reach. She won't go far, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Any gate or stall doors should be fixed with a "horse-proof" latch or clip.

The History
Basic History: Sophie was born on an Oldenburg farm in Germany of a well-known show jumping stallion and hunter/jumper dam. Like most of the foals from that year's crop, she was quickly sold off to another facility that raised her and gave her the small amount of under-saddle training that she now has. She stayed there until she was five, longer than most of the other prospects, and was eventually bought as a prospect by Magnolia Acres Farm, a Hunter/Jumper farm in Virginia. There she was given the same training that all prospects get, and her abilities were assessed. The plan was to train the mare along with the other prospects to the point where she was a competition horse. She would then be sold to one of the barn's customers. This plan was interrupted when Cora contacted her former farm about buying a prospect, and she chose to purchase Sophie. Now, Sophie is at Blue Ridge Riding Academy being trained as a Hunter/Jumper. Cora hopes to eventually sell her, hopefully to one of Blue Ridge's students once Sophie has been trained as a show hunter.
