"No no no! This simply will not do!" John glared at the classroom as he entered. Desks set out in rows, a plain whiteboard, and his desk in the back. Turning to the whiteboard, he drew a line down the middle. On one half, he drew two five measure long staffs; one bass and the other treble. The other half he left blank. He would take care of that in a moment. His attention turned to the desks. A neat little rectangle. "How quaint," John snorted, a bit irate. He set to rearranging the desks. A few minutes later, there was a two layer horseshoe.
"Better..." His eyes fell on the desk in the back of the room. One of his major pet peeves was teachers sitting at their desks during class. He felt it was impractical and generally useless. Then another thought. "Keyboards!" John cried. That was what was missing! The graying blonde strode tot he board. He picked up a blue marker-the only color marker he had in the classroom-and set to writing.
He set the marker down and stepped back. He hadn't put his name on the board, but he felt it was unnecessary. They would learn his way the same way he learned theirs-practice. An additional idea came to mind. They would need something to do while he was gone. The male picked up the marker once again, this time bringing the list of names with him to write them all down.
John took a minute to write down the names, then set down the marker yet again. He exited the room to find the keyboards he'd seen earlier.

When you arrive, please put a check next to your name. There's no assigned seats, so feel free to pick one and settle in. You'll be needing a notebook, writing utensils, and possibly some other things. I don't really know yet. If I'm not back by the time class starts, please be patient. I'll be attempting to find some keyboards.

Write a list of instrumental music you would like to learn more about. It can be modern or classic, or whatever you feel is right.
