Personality>>
Relatively self-driven and motivated, Clara is not the sort of person to actively go out seeking company and companionship. She’s the type of person who is comfortable being alone – and often she prefers it, because she gets more work done that way. That’s not to say Clara is antisocial; in her downtime she’s perfectly happy spending time with friends and family, but for academic success at a prestigious academy like Blue Ridge she’s prepared to forge ahead on the path on her own.
During a conflict, Clara is not the sort to get too emotionally involved, believing that passionate emotion hinders logic and reasonable thinking. She firmly believes that every person has the right to tell their side of the story, and will calmly listen to everyone’s point of view before making a decision on her own stance about the issue. Unfortunately, this has given her the annoying tendency of adopting a ‘there’s three sides to every story’ (your side, their side, and the truth) point of view, making her a rather unsympathetic listener to friends who want to vent their problems.
When she herself is under stress – whether it be academic or personal – Clara tends to go into super-intense mode, focussing only on the immediate solution to the problem and how she can solve it the most efficiently. Because of this, she tends to become withdrawn, snappy, and often cranky (the latter because sleep is the first thing to get struck off the list when she’s in need of more time) until she has resolved the situation.
Likes>>
• Reading
• Riding
• Writing
• Baking (it’s her secret talent)
• Drawing
Dislikes>>
• Being late
• Unhygienic people
• Procrastinating
• Students who misbehave in class and waste time
• When a school’s assigned books for English are boring
Fears>>
• That she won’t be able to make it at Blue Ridge, so far away from her family
• She’s also still afraid of the dark, and has nightmares about waking up during a power outage and not being able to find her way around
Hopes>>
• That she’ll be able to thrive at Blue Ridge (do well both academically and socially) to prove that she’s independent
• That she’ll be one of the top students in every class (she wants to do well)
Secrets>>
• Being fairly academic, in the previous year of high school Clara's high marks raised the grade curb in the class. Her teacher was suspicious of this, and Clara was accused of cheating. There was not sufficient evidence to clear her name or completely blame her, but the teacher failed her anyway.
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>>
Roughly 5’8” and around 109 pounds, Clara is tall, skinny, and lanky for her age, and seems stuck at that awkward stage where her teenage metabolism makes it difficult for her to put on weight. Because of this her signature look involves heavy sweaters, jackets, and baggy jeans – her friends back home have teasingly dubbed it ‘the homeless grandma look.’ Clara enjoys playing around with the colour of her naturally black hair, often dyeing it light brown or some variation of it, but the collarbone length of it always remains the same – she doesn’t have the time or interest to maintain and style very long hair. As long as her hair is out of her eyes, whether it be in a bun or a quickly brushed back ponytail, Clara is happy.

Medical History>> There’s not much to say. Clara has experienced no serious injuries so far in her life, and so far the most serious illness she has had is that darn cold she catches every winter.

Full History>>
Korean-American Clara grew up in Colorado with her parents, older sister, and younger brother. As with many young girls, Clara went through what her parents dubbed ‘that horse-crazy stage’ and began having riding lessons every week at a local stable, but unfortunately Clara’s stage never seemed to pass. She continued riding lessons long past the time her parents expected her to lose interest, and time revealed that Clara also had a degree of talent in the area. After learning about Blue Ridge academy from one of her instructors, Clara researched the own school, and was determined to go. Her parents were unenthusiastic about sending their daughter to a boarding school – let alone an interstate one – and initially refused to even consider the idea, and it was only after Clara told Grandma Lim about the idea and received her grandmother’s support that her parents changed their minds.
Clara has a good relationship with her family. She gets on well with her parents, is happy hanging out with her older sister, and thinks her little brother is a brat – the usual. She’s obviously close with her grandmother, and hopes that one day she’ll be able to show Grandma Lim around Blue Ridge.
We found love in a hopeless place
