Personality>>
Quarry has always been a quiet child, and many people have tried to blame it on one disorder or another. However, she's perfectly sane. While she isn't shy, she is rather timid around strangers. She won't clam up and refuse to speak, but she'll be far less friendly than if she was with friends. Whether she knows who she's talking to or not, she'll always be honest. Some consider her rude for this. Quarry figures if they don't want her to be honest with them, it'll be rather difficult for them to be friends and tends not to waste her time with them. The friends she does have know her as incredibly loyal. Her loyalty doesn't waver unless a catastrophic event that completely destroys her trust-which takes forever to build up in the first place-occurs.
But she also has a protectively aggressive side. If her friends are in trouble, she will take on the problem head-or fist-first. Unfortunately. She will not put up with bullying. Even if that means starting a fight. Quarry tries to keep her aggressive side in check, and generally succeeds. It shines through in competitive sports, though. In spite of her quiet appearance, she's headstrong and extremely competitive. Any sports involving fouls she cannot play.
Likes>>
Playing Instruments-specifically her clarinet.
Singing-any part except alto (although she generally isn't put on bass, for obvious reasons).
Reading and Writing-she doesn't claim to be good at writing, but she loves a good novel.
Riding-while it isn't her biggest passion, she enjoys riding.
Art-Every ounce of her being hates her own skills when it comes to art, but she knows how to appreciate the art of others.
Math-for whatever reason, she both loves and is quite good at math.
Dislikes>>
Liar-Cheaters-she never quite figured out why people felt the need to do either.
Loud People-as a quiet person, Quarry is generally the exact opposite.
Being the Center of Attention-she would rather not have everybody watching her. For any reason.
Blood-it tends to make her feel faint.
Overly Friendly People-while she'll pretend to get along with them, the personality type almost always clashes with her personality.
Fears>>
The man who murdered her uncle will hunt her down.
She'll lose everything.
Hopes>>
To one day buy G back-she misses her boy.
To find somebody she can trust-and by that she means she wants a relationship.
Secrets>>
Is afraid the murder will escape from prison and hunt her down.
It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
Appearance>> Quarry not only is quiet, but she looks like a quiet person. Minus her height, of 5'10. She has a slim build-partially due to the fact she lost interest in food after G was sold. She has long dark brown hair that varies in style with the days. Some days it's wavy, some days it's straight, and yet other days it's tied back because it couldn't decide which style it wanted to be. Quarry keeps herself clean, although she refuses to wear makeup. In spite of a small amount of acne sprinkled on her face, she thinks makeup is worthless. Her hazel eyes show whatever emotions she happens to be feeling. She tends to wear jeans and light t-shirts. If the weather is colder, she'll pull on an older gray hoodie, with the word Kauai across the front. Her skin isn't as tan as people expect, seeing as she spent half her life in Hawaii. Beyond that, she's the typical female teenager.
Markings>> A small crescent shaped birthmark behind her ear.
But I’ve gotta let it go
Medical History>> Typical childhood illnesses, a few colds, nothing more
Criminal History>> None
Full History>>
Quarry was born in Alaska, on one of the hottest days of the year. She was raised by her parents for seven years, living a completely normal-if not quiet-life. Her uncle lived with the family, having been kicked out by his ex-wife. A few days after her seventh birthday, a man broke into the house. Only Quarry and her uncle were home. Quarry was hidden, and her uncle went to confront the man. But the man had either expected somebody to stop him, or was very well prepared, for he promptly pulled a gun and killed Quarry's uncle. The whole time, she was hidden behind a counter, hoping he wouldn't see her. There hadn't been any time for her to hide properly. Her hope was aged, as the man didn't bother to see if there were witnesses. He eventually left without taking anything. Quarry's parents returned home, found her uncle, and immediately called the police. They found Quarry in the stable with the horses, sitting in the stall of her horse of the time, nicknamed Colt. The elderly gelding had fallen asleep, his head in the girl's lap. She too was asleep, leaned onto his neck. The police eventually found the man and Quarry was called as a witness against him in court.
A few months later, her parents decided they needed to send Quarry elsewhere. She was becoming more paranoid as time went on, and they noticed. They sent her to her grandparents, in Hawaii. There, she lived on the island of Kauai. She spent most of her time working with the horses there and going to school. It seemed to everybody that knew her she was becoming less of an introvert. One day, when she was twelve, they went to an auction. Colt had died a few months earlier, and they hadn't found the right horse for Quarry. She was convinced she would never find one. But to her surprise, an upset gelding caught her attention. General Major. One of their nearby neighbours bought him. The two became very close, Quarry going over every evening to take care of and work with the gelding. But then they hit financial difficulties and had to move. They took G with them. They sent Quarry pictures and letters with his progress. Then they ran into more difficulties and had to sell the gelding. He was sent to Blue Ridge, and Quarry was devastated. She retreated back into her shell. Worried about her well being, her grandparents and parents decided to send her to Blue Ridge as well. If she couldn't be with G, she could at least be at the same place as him.
We found love in a hopeless place
